My first impressions;
The new motor has a different sounds/to me to it. I do not know if any mods were done, but has a slighlty deeper/gruntier sound. Nice sound, but I would say a bit louder than a S1L1 set up.
New Tranny- IMO- I did not notice any difference, I did get on it pretty good and up/down through the gears. The neutral assist seemed to be OK- but I do not have any issues on my current.
ABS- Holy Cow !!- if I had a way to upgrade to these, I would do it in a heartbeat. The bike will stop on a dime. you really need to locked intot hebike when you get on the brakes casue the bike will stop and you will be going forward !! I really liked these.
The Silver/Black one looked very nice.

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Okay, fine. But there is no substitute for rider awareness and training. I get sick every time I pick up the paper and read about another biker getting killed or mamed because they were under the influence, underskilled, too fast for conditions (too me, same as underskilled), not paying attention. Yes, yes, there are those where a cage did the infamous left turn in front, or changed lanes or wasn't paying attention at a light. But in reality, those are not as many as the others where the rider induced the accident. Okay, I'm off my soapbox.
I hope folks will enjoy the 2011's as much if not more than I'm enjoying my '08. |

I took one out last weekend and said the exsact same thing. You hit it on the head. I was impress with the ABS not much change in the tranny but I was Very Very disappointed in the aluminum parts now being plastic and the side bag shocks are now gone. They cheapen the bike out in my opinion. And the bike is still 24K. I am on the fence. I was hoping to get to Higgens after work but my brother is coming home from Iraq so I will be heading down to RI too see him tonight.

Posts: 51 Edmonton AB, Canada | I have a black 2010 with ABS and I have yet to hit the breaks hard enough to engage it.
I will give it a test run and see just how much brake it takes to start the ABS.
I really didn't need the ABS but that's how the black Vision comes.
go figure? |
