Posts: 77 Virginia Beach, Virginia | Ok, so I am on this trip in PA, leaving TGI Fridays (don't laugh, slim pickins by the b&b and close to movie theatre) in hurry to make movie. The theatre is in the same center as the restaurant, so helmets only for scoot inside parking lot over to the movie. I back out carefully, get Tarra on the back, put the bike in gear, raise the kickstand.....and I am falling. No time for expletives. Tarra is still on the bike, now sideways, and the bike is still on top of me. Crap! My foot is trapped under the transmission, and tarra's boot is now in my face. All I can do is yell "help!"
1. If you are leaving tgi Fridays, don't rev your l1s2 pipes to get everyone's attention. It will, and they will watch you fall.
2. When 5 guys come over to lift the bike off of your leg, after teaching your wife how to turn the damn thing off, say thank you and how is my wife, before instructing them to put down the kickstand.
3. When the manager from the Fridays comes out to make sure that I was ok after my "big BMW motorcycle" fell on me, don't let your wife correct her with, "no ma'm it's a victory, not a BMW".
Well, I know you are not concerned about me, so i will tell you that the Vision was easily lifted, no damage (Michael Song, you are my hero) and after determining that whether or not my foot was broken, we could still make the movie, so we got back on the bike, said thank you, and rode to "the other guys"- it was good, though watching the young couple making out in front of us old farts was almost more entertaining.
4. Wear your boots, and make sure they are good ones. Three things saved my foot tonight. The wings that Michael built. My $200 boots. And the four large men that were already watching me leave the parking lot as I tipped over like a drunken water buffalo.
The movie was not worth the three days of foot pain I am about to have. And my wife got her first "told ya so" notch in her belt.

If it happened on any other 850 pound touring class motorcycle it would be a tragedy instead of an adventure.

Posts: 77 Virginia Beach, Virginia | Well, I may have spoken too soon about how well I fared. No swelling or discoloration, but my foot has that "broken" kinda feeling. I imagine it will get me out of the walking ghost tour tonight, but we will have to see how it affects my shifting. Oh well....

My wife said breaks don't swell? Jams & sprains do. Hope you heal quick.
