Posts: 1484 LaPorte,Tx. | This year I've been on a mission to get body protection and still be able to ride comfortably in high temperatures. In my quest, I've purchased the Bohn Airtex Shirt. The shirt is made from a light weight material simliar to athletic jersey with body armor in the forearm-elbows, shoulders, and back. They come in several different colors, I got the black, got a white a blue for my wife. It has a zipper front, with a pull tab so you can get ahold of it with gloves on. It has a crew colar so it not up on your neck, I like that. The armor is removable so you can wash the shirt. It has stretch panels on the sides and across the shoulders and the cuff of the sleeve fits tight. I wear a large T-shirt so I got an XL Airtex and it fits very nice. I wore it for the last month in riding temperatures up to 109 and the shirt did not add to any discomfort during those rides. I normally ride with a short sleeve T-shirt under the Airtex. The cost for the black on was $145, colors are little more. So if your looking for a little more protection and still be half way comfortable, you might try this shirt.
