Just had to fix the wire for the handlebar stereo cotrols. The wire broke off right at the connection. Only one of the two wires were broke (the white) but when I tried to undo the connector the other wire broke off also. I got it fixed myself but they are some very thin wires. I'm going to add some protection and support to them and hopefully it won't happen again.

Probably a very good idea. You will find other threads on the forum relating to problems with wireing. Many of them have to do with unusual electrical system occurances and are usually caused by either loose connections or where a short is caused by wires touchings sharp edges and eventually shorting out due to vibration.

I think any new owner would be well advised to go over the bike and look for wires contacting sharp edges, hanging too lose where constant movement will result in wires broke, or as in my case wires under the seat that were pinched between the frame and the rubber pads on the bottom of the seat.

I've noticed that when I wipe my bike down the wires and cables running along the handle bars are allways getting tugged when I run a rag along the bar. I think I will us some zip ties or maybe some velcro straps to tie things up for a cleaner more durable bundle. Just something I've been considering.

Ride safe without breakdowns!
