I want to say that I've been streaming through this forum since purchasing my used bike 2 weeks ago.
My bike is in process to get deliverd to my home this tuesday, hopefully?
I purchased a 2009 Premium Tour, perrtty loaded. CB, GPS, Trunk rack, S1/S2 galatin Tips, Side bag liners, Chrome trunk plate, ipod-cord with charger, trunk charger, heated seats, heated grips,cup holder. With 9200 hundred miles.
I come from riding my first bike a honda VTX 1300 retro. Been riding since 2003. Stepping up to a tour which has been due for awhile! But still keeping the VTX!
My wife and I are very,very excited to recieved this bike!!!
Now a few questions?
I want get the lowers and read is a MUST have? But I really don't want spend to buy clears just to get Cycleops colored ones for the brackets? If so, you think i could sell the clear ones?
What should I be worried about this bike? I know size is HUGE compare to what ride currently but feel confident I could handle.
Are the stock speakers really that bad? I've gotten mixed reviews and seems not worth changing.
The owner has taken very well of bike, and actually changed oil before shipped. He has been using Victory's oil. Should I consider any other oil? I know this is touchy subject and killed to death but would like some feed back?
Is there other issues I should be concerend with VV having 9200 miles?
I ride with group of Harley Ultra's new and old (98-103ci) Also Goldwings neither one cares for this bike due to the fact that they think it looks like like Jetson's bike! But that is why I love it because is different!!!
They've been pushing to an Ultra and can't seem to like them just not me!!!

I've been getting the same crap from my friends when I tell them I am getting a Vision. Sheep, all of them.
Dumbest statement/question so far, "Well, what are you going to do with all of your HD T-shirts?" Answer: "Turn them inside out and wear them." (I only have 4 HD shirts and 3 still have the tags on them)
Just ride it. Unless you are side-by-side racing, it's inconsequential. Every day cruising in a group is just a ride, no one will be purposly trying to leave you behind because you are on a Vision (and they won't be able to anyway).

San Antonio, TX | You might want to swap the locations of the CB and Stock Audio controls. Many that Have the CB have done this and it put the audio controls that I use the most right where I can reach them.

Answer #2 - Wash my Vision with them! Eric - It's all fun and games until your Vision starts getting all the attention, then you find out who your friends really are. Your VTX was no threat at all to those guys. You think I'm kidding, just watch.

...is this why I don't have any friends? Now I know, I thought it was just me, but it's just my Vision making them jealous. Thanks SF for clearing that up for me.

Eric, First congrats on getting a Vision, you got the right color too!! Yes, you can sell the clear ones to someone who has a broken one...I am waiting on CycleOps to "perfect" the Midnight Cherry color befor ei get mine (already paid for) Only thing you will need to worry about your Vision is the STUPID backfire...I have CALMED mine DOWN DRASTICALLY by replacing the exhaustr gasketrs and installing Lloydz IAC unit....Well worht the money to ALMOST STOP the stupid backfiring...The Vision handles so easily it is scary at times... Not the stock speakers aren't THAT bad but there are better ones out there...Plus witht he CB/Intercom you'll have headsets ( I would buy some J&M Elites they ROCK for headsets) OH NO an OIL QUESTION!! TABOO!!! I use either Victory 20W40 or Mobil 1 V-Twin 20 W 50 (I use Vic oil only when I don't have time to change my own) No issues I have 17,000 on mine just do maintenance and you're good to go! As far the HD's go...You'll smoke them even with a STOCK Vision, get cams and VFC from Lloydz and you'll have no worries in less than a 1/8 mile Don't know about the GW, it's got a 6 cyclinder Ride safe and enjoy the VisioN!! |

Ruskin, Fl | Speakers are just fine for me. I use an iPhone with the ipod cable. Bike is very well balanced and handles very well. The challenage for me at first was tight spaces due to the lenth and linked brakes. Not an issue in no time at all. I'm a couple of hundred miles shory of 30K on Mobil 1, no issues. |
