| I jumped off my 2009 harley street glide and hoped on a 08 vision. This is the 4th test ride I have been on and am wondering do you get use to the gear noise and the feeling the motor is over the red line.
I really do like the vision and have been up 3 nights in a row wondering if I make the trade will I be happy after three hours of riding or will the gear noise push me over to the wish I didn't trade side.
If I keep my harley or get the vision it will be the last bike I ever own. I will never be able to trade or but another bike.
Will one or two or three of you guys or gals set me straight.
I will never be able to thank you folks for being so nice.

Posts: 432 Gettysburg, 2008 Tour Premium | John, the noise is not an issue for me. Most people will do some well thought out tried and true mods to get a few extra ponies and the bike does get more relaxed as a result. The bike really quiet down around 3-5,000 miles. I put on something called Grip Puppies. Do a search, they slip over the stock grip and are soft foam. I have big hands and work with my hands and cannot stand having small grips, make my hands hurt. |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | All I can say is that I've never been a Harley rider, though I have rode one once. Also, I just started riding again 5 years ago next month. Picked up riding on an '84 Goldwing and realized that I had been missing a lot of years doing what I should have been doing. Got the Vision just a little over 30 months ago and by the end of this week I'll have 80,000 on the clock. Just returned from a trip to California and back, and did 2,100 the last two days of travel and was no worse for the wear. The Vision is a solid bike and I'd change the oil and hit back out to California tonight if the wife and work would let me. I don't know what else to tell you.
I still have the stock windshield, but you can get various sizes for the Vision both through the dealer and after market.
I put leather cover over my grips, with tassles, no less. I'm glad I made the move as it does fatten the grip for me just right.

What noise? Actually, I got used to the noise plus as others have said, it does quiet down a bit over time. |

Posts: 669 Peachtree City, GA | I have noticed the transmission noise once in a while... I usually have the radio (XM) or my ipod on...
If you can - wait and check out the 2011's. There have been a number of people that put a large amount on miles on theirs with no issues at all with the transmission.
