Does anybody know if Victory specifies any particular torque specs for the two screws on the lower mounts? If so, what are they?

Thanks,
Marc

That might have not been clear enough. I'm talking about the lower clear plastic wind deflectors.

I believe this would be a safe move,Had looked at some on bikes at Carlisle Pa. and they really had them cranked when I tried to move them no way they would budge.

I'll tell you what made a huge difference: a drop of oil. I put a drop of oil on the top of each pin and let it soak in. It made the lowers move so much easier and smoother without having to loosen the set screw up. I can move them now from the seat quite easily and they hold position up to 85 mph. I'd like to get my hands on the original install instructions and see if they quote any torques.

The drop of oil sounds like a great fix.  I think a lot of the plastic lowers are cracking because you have to crank down pretty hard to keep them in place above 70mph.  When you go to adjust them later, they are too thin and will crack.  I have mine set to stay in place up to about 70mph and then they start to "seek the wind".  They are loose enough to adjust on the fly with the toe of my boot but stiff enough for anything under 70mph.  I always make sure I'm adjusting from the middle of the wing to spread the load evenly between the upper and lower mounts.  Going on two years and no cracks.

I'll try the oil trick to try and get them to stay in place above 70.  The problem is, you don't know if they are too tight until you crack one.  I got a great deal on a spare set, just in case.

We all know CycleOps colormatched lowers makes this all a moot point.
