Posts: 49 west bend, wi | A couple of weeks ago someone posted the link (either here or in 'THEVMC' forum) to the original insurance auction - wonder how much it went for then - and how much his guy is hoping to make off of it in a quick couple of days..... |

Posts: 115 Victoria, BC | Wow, what a shame! Wonder if he lost it on a corner - new tires being slippery & all that. When my Son bought his Honda CBR, the mechanic read him the riot act about careful for the first 100 Kilometers (62 miles). Said he had seen several kids over the years leave the dealership and total their bikes before making it home, because the tires are still slippery from the manufacturing process. He had it for 45 days before toasting it. Glad it wasn't my money.

Posts: 619 Southeast Iowa | It's not the same bike...........the one from Des Moines has a broken fin on the right rear cylinder, the one from PA does not. My guess is the Victory dealer in Ankeny (just a few miles north of Des Moines) knows what happened. |

| It looks like the right gas tank is pretty dented, maybe the fuel system is leaking judging from the spots around the bike? A friend of mine worked at a Honda dealership for a while. A guy came in and bought an 1800 VTX. He put bags, sissy bar, highway bars, highway lights, you name it on it. I think he had $18,000 in the bike. He just received his learners permit and everyone watched him leave the parking lot, and I mean barely leave the parking lot. He could hardly keep it upright and was wobbling as he left. The sales guy actually said "if he makes it out of the parking lot, my conscience is clear." He guy made it 16 miles down the road before he finally dumped it. |

Posts: 619 Southeast Iowa | That's what happens when people have more money than brains. When my wife started she spent hours in a parking lot before I would let her ride down the highway. She started on a 250 Rebel and rode 200 miles before taking the Safety course. She put over 1000 miles on the Rebel before moving up to a 750 Shadow Ace. 10,000 miles later she was ready for her next step and graduated to a Kingpin. She has logged over 30,000 miles on that bike and will be ready for a new one next year.............maybe she will want a Vision too. |

Posts: 550 Tacoma, WA | I am with ya Big Vic! I taught my ex- wife how to ride in a parking lot, and she logged over 4,000 miles before she finally took the BRC. She is now riding a GL1800 as her divorce present to herself....I decided to go with a better bike for mine....Metalguy |

Posts: 619 Southeast Iowa | Metalguy - She's on a Wing and your on a Vision, I'd say your doing better after the divorce than she is. It's not very often that the man comes out on the better end of a divorce. Go Victory! |
