I have an '09 Vision with CB/Interocm. I want to take th etour pack (trunk) off and see how it handles and stuff....What do I need to do with the CB/Intercom unit? Does it unplug and get set aside or is there someplace to put it on the bike while riding...I "assume"  it comes off but not sure...

It unplugs - just leave it mounted and disconnect the cables and remove the bolts - lefts right off.

The intercom and the CB stay in the trunk.

I just put my trunk back on Saturday. If you are looking back at the trunk, your right are 2 harnesses. 1 big one 1 small one. The small one has a short cable on mine. The connector found it's way back up into the trunk. I used a small piece of black tape and tape it to the big harness and that solved the problem.
Hope this helps so you don't have to take your trunk off again. :P

Here is a video on you tube that deals with removing the trunk if you are interested...

Great Video to watch!!!! Pretty easy to remove it. Have people found a big difference with the trunk off as opposed to just riding with it on? I have left the trunk on the entire time even when not "touring" long distances....

Took mine off after 3 months and 7000 miles. Wow! I couldn't believe how different the bike felt. Like it had lost 300 pounds and the center of gravity dropped noticeably. Now I only install the top box for long trips.

I've had the tour pack on the bike for all of about 3 hours. Installed it, went for a 70 mile ride with the wife......I hated it and she could care less about it. Said she liked the Victory backrest just as much. Took it back off that night and never put it back on. It has sat in my garage ever since and now I have it up for sale on consignment at AZ Victory. With the Saddlemen Solo-bag I see absolutely no reason to ever use it......and the bike looks and feels 5 times better

Your opinions may vary.

I had mine on for 16,000 miles. After my cancer treatment I took it off. It made the bike easier to maneuver with my lost energy. I put it back on for my trip to Sturgis. I have toyed with the idea of taking it off at Sturgis but I doubt I will just for 5 days.
