Heading up to Charlotte tonight to see my mom, I live about 40 miles west of Atlanta. It's 315 miles from my driveway, so I'm gonna find out max range at about 70-75 mph...............thinking about 275 miles......

You are probably a little optomistic...however, speed makes a huge difference in mileage.

Enjoy your trip and keep us posted!

Remember that the fuel pump needs fuel to keep the pump cool. Please do not run it dry.

I went 245 miles on a tank. When I refilled, I put 6.01 gallons back in.

Wow! That's ballsy. On a long trip I start to get nervous about 180 miles, and like to fill up by 200 or so. Maybe my imagination when that Yellow gas light comes on, but seems like the bike starts struggling a bit when I get into the last gallon.

Running out of fuel on the closed loop is not a good idea, and if you're going to push it to the limit, carry a reserve bottle of fuel with you as you might think you are close enough to station and find you've got more distant to go than planned.

Any you need to know this why? I thought the bike has a low fuel light? When my light comes on I have over a gallon left which is fine by me cause I am known for running out. I just get lost in the ride but to do it on purpose? I know a couple of guys that ran out of gas on their Visions and there neutral "N" light doesn't work anymore. Is there a connection?

At 200 miles I better be real close to a gas station.I did 212 miles once and put in 5 .85 gallons .I have NEVER gotten close to the 45 mpg's some vision owners claim at 70-75 mph

I spent most of that tank of gas riding around the country, 35-55 mph. I actually went to a gas station, realized I forgot my wallet, and had to go back home and get it.

I just put 5.56 gallons in mine and the light had been on for about 30 miles. One thing that I noticed was on left sweeping curves it would chuggle a little, straights and right curves no problems.

If your tank took 6.1 gallons I would check when the gas pump at the station was calibrated, you're getting ripped off by a few cents everytime. There's a website that catches pumps miss reading when the agraculture folks come around and test, and I've read they can be off quite abit.

Allright here it is: I'm home, first leg on the way up to Charlotte I ran anverage on the trip computer of 68.7mph, (there was a construction zone around greenville SC) I stopped at 252.3 miles and put 5.44 gallons in. I started with the tank to the absolute top of filler neck and refilled the same. The low fuel light had been on for about 12 miles.......So at 270 something I would have been walking.....steve

thanks for the update steve. my best mileage was out west where I could go 220 miles and light was still not on when I stopped to get gas. However, for safety sake I would still stop between 180-200 mile mark.

Did you try figuring out the mileage by yourself? The on-board computer is terribly inaccurate.
