was informed that, even though they need to drain the oil to fix the issue, i will still be charged for the oil change because fluids are not covered by the extended warrantee. it's ok though because they will not do the brake job or install the tires i was going to have to have included in this next trip to the dealership. unfortunate, because i have a great dealer, but someone has to tell victory they suck and it looks like it will be up to my dealer this time to tell them.
and don't tell me how unfair it is to the dealer. it is. but it is also unfair to us and the dealers need to be the ones to fix it.

then a trip to the Yamakazuki dealer to look at the new BMW touring bike. Depends on how unhappy they make me.

Had mine repaired under warranty, as have many others reported on here, and there was no charge for the fluid change.

May sound stupid, but fluids are not covered by warrenty. Most mechanics though lean the bike to the right, and do not drain the oil

Come on Kevinx, he needs an excuse to go to a different bike not options that work. Of course I would just wait till I needed an oil change and roll the dice if they pay or not but then he would have no need to look elsewhere..... The cost of an oil change is reason to look for a different bike? Wait till he sees the cost of maintenance on a BMW. O.O But they might throw in a free oil change?

I would go with the warranty company being a PIA - hello they rejected replacing my headlight that is holding WATER - said it was a wear item.

Just waiting until it fills up a little more and start shorting shit out - lets see how much that one is going to cost them...

The extended Polaristar warranty is a contract. You should have recieved that when you got the bike if you bought the extened warranty. Get the contract out and read through it and you'll get a good idea of what is covered and what is not. Now after saying that, your dealer is the main contact on this warranty and it (the repair) has to be cleared for the repair to begin. But that also has a lot to do with the dealer.
If a dealer or my dealer says that a claim was denied from Polaristar, I would request the denial in writing from Polaristar. If you read through enough of these extended warranty postings here, you will see something very interesting. Some folks get their extended warranty claim paid for with no issues, other foks for the exact same issue, get denied. If you get denied on a claim, get it in writing from Polaristar, not a verbal from the dealer.

I just made an appointment to have my erratic indicator fixed. The parts are about $60 with the cover gasket that they tell me should be replaced along with the bolt and whatever else to fix it. I was also told that the warranty claim was denied. I made the argument that I've seen others having this fixed under warranty. To be continued...

I wonder how they would handle an issue like this if somebody locked the rear wheel up because the indicator said 4 and they were in second. It could cause a mishap. Not saying I need the bike to tell me what gear I'm in, just saying...

...if that happens, they have more problems than an indicator and need to park the bike before they kill themselves.

I agree Varyder. But if a creep can bust his leg breaking into somebody's house and win a lawsuit against the home owner, anything is possible. When I worked for a propane company, a guy STOLE a 100 pound propane cylinder, hooked it up to his water heater and burned his house down. Wasn't even qualified for the hook up. Sued the deep pockets of the propane company. We settled out of court.

My last stop into the dealer I found that the repair was covered by my extended warranty.  How the dealer states the issue to the warranty company is the key. They don't cover defective switches if the sending unit is the problem.  However since mine was the star washer/bolt combination that needed fixing, they stated on the claim that the bolt backed out, not that the switch was defective.  Warranty will cover an interal bolt coming loose, but not an internal indicator switch failure. Wtf?  You have to fix it either way.  Anyhow, paid my $25 deductable for the extended warranty and they covered the rest.

I know this is an old thead but has anyone more recently had problems getting Victory to cover under extended warranty ? Or does anyone know how hard it is to do yourself ? I am at the point I just want it fixed and tired of dealing with Victory's wishy washy crap even if I have to do it myself , I could care less what gear it reads as long as it would stay put but it bouncing around while our riding draws your eyes to it and will drive a person crazy
