Ennis, Tx | Hello Everyone, We've had our new '09 Vision Tour Premium Black Cherry for a month now and it's a great upgrade...
Stepped up from a '02 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 - had her for 8yrs with a lot of mods and 46k miles of smiles...
After 6 months of researching a HD Ultra, Gold Wing & a Victory Vision -- the Vision won our hearts..
After 1k miles - the Vision is everything that I have read.
I'll be taking a 1500 mile trip in the middle of August to the 12th Annual Southern Cruisers Cruisin for a Cure so that'll be the true test compared to last years trip on the Shadow Spirit 1100... Mike & Judi |

Ennis, Tx | Thanks All, We were wanting the '09 Ice Blue until we saw the Midnight Cherry.... The Vision's sure do draw attention -- I don't mine when parked but the attention when on the hi-way is a little crazy sometimes... I finally get to do a 400 mile burger trip this coming Tuesday - first ride that isn't to work -- just not enough time in a week for the moment to really get out an enjoy a good ride... The Texas heat is pounding on us or the rains for the moment....

Sounds like my story - 1996 Suzuki 1400 Intruder for 11 years and 50k+ miles. Bought the '09 Vision Tour Premium in black and chrome about 6 weeks ago. Just returned from our first long trip (2100 miles, 6 days through Texas). Here is what we learned in our first 5000 miles:
Bike is FANTASTIC!
Can go 500+ miles a day and not be too sore.
70mph seems too slow
Plenty of room for 4 days, then do laundry.
We have the saddlebag inserts, which probably adds 15-20% more usable space.
Heated grips, even on low, get hot on bare hands
If it rains, you will get wet. Even with lowers and the windshield all the way up. Not soaked, but plenty wet.
The passenger will get wetter. Bring rain gear.
You can go through 8"deep x12ft wide puddles (at least) without any problems
People in cars will laugh watching you go through 8"deep x12ft wide puddles
About 200 miles per tank comfortably
Crosswinds suck
Keep the camera handy; Everything is more beautiful from the back of a VV

Ennis, Tx | Hey Boots, I agree with ya... The bike is awesome.... The Vision seems large until ya get on the hiway and fits like a glove... The rain shower I got caught in you do get wet - maybe cuz the windshield is farther away from you... The only negative thing is the heat off the motor compared to the Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 (water-cooled) that I had but that's minor compared to all the options on the Vision... The windshield is a great plus being able to raise or lower as needed...
We did our 300 mile burger run to Carlos, Tx to Yankee's Tavern... The ride went great with great friends to enjoy it with... Had 3 HD Ultra's on the trip - and we all had something to compare to... Can't wait until the next ride. |

Okeefenokee Swamp | Welcome aboard. You will not regret your decision. The Vision is my first non-harley and I have no regrets.As a matter of fact,as long as everything continues like it is with the Vision,harley will get no more of my hard earned dollars.I am leaving in just a few minutes for a 5000 mile trip.Cant wait. |
