Hey All,

We have made it as far as Vegas on our trip from Vancouver Island. There has certainly been a temp change.... I went for a short ride yesterday afternoon and my bike told me it was 120 degs.... This and with the engine heat, I have decided that I will not be needing to riade again until we leave.. At least not in the afternoon. The ride through the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley will have to be well planned....

Anyway, I stopped by and visited the nice people at Arlen's shop, a couple of nice man toys to say the very least... LOL

Anyway, I asked about getting an IPod cable as another MP3 player has crapped out on me. I asked about getting a cable for my 09 ViVi Premium Tour. I wanted the one that charges the newer IPOD products. They told me that there is no such thing for the 09 but there is for the 2010 as the 2010 is wired differently from the 2009. So I did buy the cable for the 09.

Now I am on the hunt for an IPOD. I am told that Fry's Electronics is a good place, however, I am thinking that I will try to check out a few pawn shops as well.

I know that it has to have a flash drive (whatever that is?). Does it need to be generation 3 or older? The guy at the store mentioned a charge converter. Will this allow me to charge my IPOD with the cable that I bought? Will this charge converter allow me to charge/operate newer versions of IPOD?

What is everyone else using? Any and all suggestions /comments are greatly appreciated. I am hoping to get out later tonight or early tomorrow morning to take care of this so that I can have it ready for our trek back on early Monday morning

 Thanks All

A charge converter from www.cablejive.com will allow 4th gen and newer ipods to charge while connected. Don't know how, they just do. However, my 4th gen crapped out on me 2 weeks ago while connected to the charge converter. Don't know why. Probably just coincidence. But it will keep a newer ipod charged up and playing.

I helped a friend put up a fence. When we got done he asked his wife for her old 8gig Ipod then he handed it to me and gave her a brand new 16gig so her and I both made out. She showed me how to get free music from Amazon. I download the music and then it adds it to my playlist and when I plug in my Ipod in, it uploads all the new songs. It's been working great since Victory authorized my whole wiring harness be replaced. A wire chafed against the edge of the fuel tank and was causing all my problems.
Hope this helps.
I do not have the '10 cable but the old Ipod charges just fine with the old style cable.

I am using a 2nd generation iPod touch on my 2010 ViVi WITH the new iPod cable. Mine DOES charge the iPod and give me the abilility to select songs through the handlebar or radio controls.

I'm finding the prices for iPods on eBay are selling high. Try placing an add with Kijii, it's free, if most kids are like mine, they must have the latest and greatest. Look for one with a weak battery, you will get it for a better price, and it won't matter to you as you will be running it off the charging cable.

Try your local pawn shops. San Antonio Pawn Shops are a iPod buyers market.
