Posts: 2118 Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | I lived in Kissimmee for 5 years recently. This time of year - plan to ride in the morning/early afternoon. Things get hot, black, wet, and ugly after that - until maybe 8ish at night. OH YEAH - and watch out for gators and lightning.
Roads are FLAT. Roads are STRAIGHT. Curves DON'T EXIST. And 'scenic drives' are a joke - for someone from B.C.
Enjoy. I didn't.
WAIT ! The people are great ! Or at least - most of them.... |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | my first long trip was 730 miles from home in Va to Orlando, great ride, and warm even in December. Traffic got a little heavy from 95 across 4 Orlando. Hope you enjoy the trip.
I lived a couple years in Elroy and worked at Sparta on Fort McCoy. I enjoyed the winter for two years. I think summer was on August 16th one year and July 27 the next year.

How many days are you going to take to make the ride? You could ride the Dragon...if it is open...on the way down or back.

| This time of year I too would fly down in AC. Rent a car with AC. Then when I got home I would plan a trip in the northern part of the country or maybe to Sturgis or the AVR. |
