Posts: 88 Lavon, TX | I pull an "overflowing" Bushtec Turbo+2 trailer - two fully loaded coolers (theirs, on the upfront platform, and a larger one inside between the trailer wheels), a couple of extra cases of beer, five 1.75liter bottles of liquor, 15 lbs of beads, five person tent, 14x17 screen room, lantern, spare tire/wheel assembly, 12V battery system for running the pump to blow up the double air matress, sheets, blankets, pillows, dry food, mine and my wife's clothing, and a coleman stove/grill wedged between the back of the cooler and front of the trailer. I have a roof rack on the trailer - which holds two large collapsable chairs and two small tables.
Needless to say, we attend many rallies within the Texas area (unfortunately, we are usually the ONLY Vision riders who show up).
I carry all of this - effortlessly - riding two up, and traveling much of the way in excess of the speed limits (I can easily hit 122MPH per GPS reading in this senario).
I never know the trailer is back there - except when trying to do tight manuvering (backing up, pulling up at gas pump, etc) - with a couple of noted exceptions: last weekend - had to travel down a "pig trail" to get to the rally site, and I did notice the fully loaded trailer tugging a bit on my rear; early this year - returning from a rally in the rain and went into an off-ramp way too fast (for the conditions) when changing interstate highways: the trailer literally "saved my a**" by keeping the rear of the bike from fishtailing around beside me as I fought to keep us off of the guardrailing. |
