Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Anyone in that area. I'll be out there next week and may have time to meet someone while there. Unfortunetly I will be flying out, argh! Maybe I can rent a Hog while there to get in some riding time, but maybe not, that'd be like riding a 1914 International Harvester. |

That is a great idea! "Tink, tink, tink... is any one listening from Victory?" You guys get a good sell when the dealers let us test drive, why not a rental program? Can you start that on Monday in Barstow, Ca, and I'll be the first customer. I'd like to reserve a Midnight Cherry Street Premium with the iPod connection and GPS. There's a lot of desert to ride on and I want to know how to get back. |

varyder, Barstow is a couple of hours north from me. Are you going to do anything at the Logistics base? |

Posts: 150 Las Vegas, Nevada USA baby! | The Las Vegas Arlen Ness Victory dealer rents Victorys all of the time. I just got off of the phone with Kathy over there, and they probably will not have a Vision in the rental fleet this year at all. Kingpin and Vegas in different variations are available for rent however.
VARyder, make sure you get hold of my contact info! I usually have someone to cover for me on Friday afternoons here at the radio station!
This air-conditioned motorcycle suit really is going to need a lot of work!

Jacksonville Florida | If Victory would really like to sell 200 or more bikes in the next 30 day's just extend the 2.9% financing to all 2008 bikes. I suggested this to the wheel at the party. Only time will tell. |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Too funny edradio, way too funny! I'm trying to line up with ANLV about a weekly rental. They just do daily for $150, so times that by 5 and you come up with a chunk of change. The other problem is that I'm traveling with someone else that would be hard to get to work around doing this also. That is, I'd have to have the bike back by Thursday evening since I leave long before they open on Friday . I'll be staying in Barstow for the week, so with all that said, I'll probably be without for the week, but hey, that's the way things go.
I have to call back to ANLV on Satuday and talk with the regular rental guy, he wasn't in when I called.
Back to the AC suite, when I saw it, I started laughing so hard my wife had to come in and see what was going on... |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | I still can't get over edradio's AC suit. That had to be a Goldwing option one year, probably when they were testing the airbags. Anyway, I'll be working at Fort Irwin each day, and I'm traveling with someone else that has the rental car, so I'm at their mercy. But if I can swing a rental bike a Arlen's in LV I'll try to get by to see you and edradio. If not, I'll have another trip out that way, and given enough notice I would ride the 2,300 miles. I have family in Bakersfield and Victorville, and a few other places, but I don't know them well.

Posts: 235 Evergreen, CO | If each dealer had at least TWO Visions, in a cooperative deal with the manufacturer, similar to what Harley offers, the availability of a rental to those of us not fortunate enough yet to have any seat time on a Vision would sell THOUSANDS of Visions the first year. Think of it as an expanded demo ride. I live west of Denver in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and I do 95% of my riding uphill from where I live. I'm not a barhopper kind of rider, and even riding in "city" traffic is not my cup of tea.
I'm anxiously looking forward to the demo ride truck coming to Littleton, CO in April, but I'm going on the assumption that for that demo ride, I will be required to stay in the Denver metro area for the demo ride. Most likely it will be a demo ride similar to what Harley has offered in the past at various bike events......a specified route, 15-20 minute ride, etc.
Not that I won't REALLY learn a lot about the Vision when I take that demo ride. I'll be able to better understand all the accolades I've read on this forum about the Vision. But if I had the opportunity to actually RENT one for an entire day, and ride it in some of the areas that I frequent with my Heritage Softail now, I'm SURE that would make a much greater impression on me, and place me into that "gonzo land" that many of you experienced when you first heard about the Vision, placed your order, and then had to wait months with numerous delays.
I'm looking forward to the experience of actually riding a Vision during Littleton's demo event. I'm sure ther are many more like me that would be more than 100% sold on the bike if they had an opportunity to ride one for a day on their own route. Cheap marketing for Victory. A great deal for the Victory dealer. A great way to get thousands more excited about the Vision and other Victory motorcycles. It's a win win win situation. C'mon Polaris, DO IT!!!!

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Okay, it'll be about $600 for a 5 day ride, about 4 hours any given day. I'll have the D-T's by the time I get back home, but I can't support an expensive habit as that. The next go round though, I hope I get enought advance notice and then it's Katie bar the door, here I come rolling down highway 40. |

Posts: 150 Las Vegas, Nevada USA baby! | After I finished with my Broadcasting School today, I went by Arlen Ness Las Vegas for their open house. NON-STOP demos of up to four Visions at a time, as well as Kingpins, Vegas's, and Hammers! Like waiting in line at an amusement park.
In the later part of the afternoon, them dad-gummed desert winds kicked up, but the folks just kept on comin'! Arlen Ness is on busy Boulder Hwy on the East side of 'Vegas, so that helped the drive by traffic I'm sure!
Well, maybe next time you ride thru, you can look me up! Vision Pilot that you are!

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | I'm not sure if I'll last the week. Not so bad during work hours, but when I get done there is too much day light hours and too much highway not to have the wind in my face. I've got my ride songs playing on my computer from the iPod...it hurts being grounded.... |
