Posts: 499 Chattanooga, TN | Just had an ipod fail after about 100 days on the bike. It was a 4th generation nano. I haven't had any problems with it (besides one reset) until I recently got a charge converter from cablejive.com and even then it was fine for a week or so. Last week my daughter and I were out for a ride and it was turning off unexpectedly, so after 10-20 miles I took off the charge converter and hooked it up directly to the ipod interface. It still turned off so next stop I moved the white wire around to make sure it was connected securely, and it worked well. Then yesterday I was riding home and it suddenly turned off for no apparent reason. I was unable to revive it, reset it, or do anything with it as all. Anyone with a similar experience? Don't know if I should replace the cable before I get another ipod or not. I'd hate to waste more money on a new ipod and have it fail as well if it is electrical. | |

| Had same thing happen to me as well, same Ipod everything. I will look for corrosion on cable, bought reconditioned Ipod for less than half the price on ebay, but to be honest, ever since the wife bought a pair of bluetooth helemt communicators don't use the ipod any longer. The com system has bluetooth for my cell phone also and it can sync my music on MP3 player on phone answer phone calls, and still talk with my co-pilot. You can get comm units for just over the price of a brand new Ipod and music sounds way better coming directly into helmet.
Peace,
