When do the new models come out?
Curious as to colors and new/revised offerings.
I would like to see an upgraded radio, say 160 watts instead of 80.
Maybe an integrated GPS the size of the GW's.
Better reception antennas.
Maybe have the trunk lights works with the brakes and signals so the SUV's see you changing lanes?

Any other improvements anyone hoping for?

Those are nice, but no matter what anyone says, the "creme de la creme" has got to be bigger side bags. Whether that will be 2011, is another story.

Larger saddle bags would be nice. I am shopping and that is a concern of mine for riding long distances. Not a deal breaker for me but if they address this I will likely buy a 2011. I have heard numerous Vision owners mention this also.

For riding long distance, they are not small, they are just different. They are not like the Cross Bike open top bags or the HD bags, but they are not small. I carry a lot of stuff on my bike...all the time. I've learned how to pack the bags to get the most use from them. If riding along, I can pack for ~10 days without any issues. If riding with the wife, 5 days, then we have to do some laundry, which now days, a lot of motels offer free. Not buying the Vision because of bag size would be a mistake. But waiting for the 11s is a good idea, we should be seeing them in a month or so.

I don't own a Vision yet....counting the days. But we always must try to improve regardless how good. Let's not forget that the new GW and BMW are due out this year and as good as the Vision is, it has to continue to challenge the others with the vengence that they have shown already. The saddlebags are probably the number one priority. I presently ride a Road King and except for the goofy latch and two handed opening, they can swallow alot of stuff.

I have to agree the vision side bags are more different than they are small.

Victory will not allow the Vision to go stagnate, but they have also admitted that they are not going to do major changes to the bags. Victory will update the Vision when it feels its gotten full value out of it... Look at the current GW. Its been around for what? 10 years? with only minor changes and updates. I would be willing to bet you wont see major changes to the bags until the Vision is totally refreshed, that will probably be a few more years yet. Honda goes 10 years... I bet Victory will go 8. I am sure they are already working on the next vision though.

Having said that about the side bags, let's not forget the Vision is only going on 4yrs old in production.
The GW,HD and BMW have been out for decades. I think it's doing well, competing with the Big Dogs!

I dunno but I would speculate that they soon it will be. They don't seem to be pushing them since the other CR and CC models came out.

There is always such thing as ahead of their time, as many inventions has had the same fate through the years. I believe the Vision will fall victim of that. As beloved as the bike is among its riders and as unique as it is in appearance, truly a thing of beauty among machines, it will never sustain true popularity. Our feat, however, will be the ability to maintain the machine so it will endure well beyond production end. My mind is already focusing on that "second" motorcycle so as not to literally wear this one out before I am laid to rest. I suspect this will be my only new Vision, and I'm glad I took the chance on the venture.

With that being said, let it be known that the Vision changed the way we thought about motorcycles. Already the buzz among manufacturers is lower seats and lower center of gravity. The come back Indian has already captured this and whether anyone would agree with me, but the Indian sits as well as the Vision. Albeit, the leather seat stiffness may not allow you to sit as many miles, nor does it have the same weather protection, but I would venture to say that it will handle very well, at least better than many other bikes on the road that is would claim to be a biker's bike.

I think Victory's time is now and discontinuing the Vision would be a huge mistake. No one builds a bike this size that can be riden by us vertically challenged (5'7". This bike had so much engineering, research and developement put into it that it would be a disgrace to have it no more. I think Polaris has the resources to hang in there and should. They need to expand the dealer network and distinguish themselves from the Polaris name. Their lineup of bikes can stand on their own. One of my local Harley dealerships took on the Victory line and as crazy as that sounds I think it will sell Victorys! You can compare side by side. Also the service side should be very good being carried over from the HD end. Please stop talking the extinction of Vision. I'm counting the days until I can own one.

I hope they don't change the bags at all. With the alignment issue, latch popping open, rattle & vibration that they finally got fixed, I don't want to start all over again being their test pigeon.

Folks. The Vision isn't going anywhere. Last I checked the number one Vic modle sold for both the 2008 and 9 model years was the Vision. Even with the XC and XR the Vision is holding it's own. Victory spent considerable time and money on the Vision development. Vicotry wants to be a player in the touring market. We are witnessing the beginning of model line, not the end. I will admit that I don't expect a major refresh for a few more years though.

It wont ever be 100% for everyone. The list of "wants"here are surely nothing that would or should keep someone from either buying or enjoying the bike.
New colors will be announced at the annual dealer meeting in Florida, not before.
The Vision wont be going anywhere, you can upgrade your own stereo, buy a top storage bag for the trunk, and the GPS is raised, easy to work, easy to see and can be removed quickly for storage. Lets focus on the real important things like cup holders, belt buckles,
and leather stuff with Tassles............. LOL

Victory guards it's sales numbers pretty closely. But this was the drift I got when talking to Vic folk at shows and demos. The Vision is here to stay. I know for me I could have had the XC over the vision very easily. But I chose the vision in the end.

we can ALL speculate as to the fate of any model and certainly that is all I'm doing as well. It is good for thought, but what WE think will never be what a corporatation decides to do. I see the Vision as the best bike on the road today and would hope for it to stay around for many years down the road. However....

By the way, one of the best selling vehicles of all times was dropped like a hot potato in 2001 - the Jeep Cherokee, dropped even while at the top of its game...

If it was available, I might have even got the TC, if they were still making them.

I would venture to say the Cherokee was one of the best vehicles ever built. All we can do is speculate. But Vic wanted in the touring game bad. And I don think they are dropping out any time soon.

Test drove an XC this past week in Laconia and was not impressed. I hate to say it but in stock form it is a slug. My Vision handled better and had what felt like was twice the power. The XC does look good but needs more power in my opinion.

I have spoken with several Honda dealers and it has been said on several Goldwing sites that there will be no 2011 GW. A totally new model from Japan will be introduced for 2012.

I'm not sure why your XC demo lacked power but I also rode a demo this weekend in Houston. I thought the power was excellent and just as smooth as the vision. Each has its advantages but I like the radio display up underneath the instrument cluster on the XC better than down on the center panel on the vision. I noticed the sun reflects down there and makes it difficult to see at times. Overall though, both are great bikes.

I agree the vision needs a little refining. If they're in this for the long haul, which I believe is also true. Then both a hyraulic center stand and reverse gear should strongly be considered on the Premium Tour Comfort package. Both of these models come with these ammenities on the GW and BMW K1200LT. The audio electronics is another small gripe, but not a deal breaker. Even though my 2000 BMW's audio was much better than my current on the vision. The bags / storage are comparatively the same as the BMW's. Plenty of storage!

With all that said, I'm still thrilled with the Visions overall performance. Wouldn't trade, or go back to either of the above mentioned models.

The Vic Dealer In Chester,VA said the same thing to me 2 weeks ago. He said it was the #1 seller for 2009 and they can't get a 2010 unless it's pre-ordered, sold. May have been sales talk, maybe not. I'm hoping to pick one up in 2011, I want to see if there are any changes. I sure love the way they look and all the reviews, I especially like what ya'll have said about them. Thanks for being here.

Disagree, no way plenty of storage for long trips. I came off a Wing and own an Ultra, in the storage dept it is night and day.

I do agree it may be enough for some but three weeks with 2 people and cameras etc. ? And yes we wash our clothes.

Reverse, for what. I am 5' 9" and used the one on the Wing maybe 6 times. That is much easier to adjust by watching where you park than lack of storage and an expensive add for the few that will really rarely use it.

The bikes appeal is power out of the box, newer design and engineering.

I am still thinking of buying a new Vision but just to be sure will wait for 2011 models to be released. I hope for some minor functiuonal fine tuning and refinements not expensive gadgetry that is a show piece.

I am amazed to read that some Vision owners think Victory would discontinue the Vision. I know this was raised last year also. I was talking with one of the Victory executives a few months ago and this subject came up and he was aware of these comments on the forums. He was shocked anyone would think they would kill the bike that makes up over 50% of their total bike sales, has the most loyal customers of any touring motorcycle on the market and has been the top pick in almost every review over the last three years.

To think the entry of the cross country and cross roads would kill the Vision would be the same as saying the Harley Street Glide or Road King would kill the Ultra. The Ultra outsells both of those models combined.

About the only thing I would like to see enhanced on the Vision is storage area in the side bags but it is not anywhere close to being a deal breaker. I have learned how to pack as much in my Vision as in a Harley and pretty close to what I got in the Gold Wing. Maybe I need to do a video on how to maximize storage when packing on the Vision. But I would buy clothes and throw them away if I had too to ride the Vision over any other bike.

Quick story: Rick Fairless who owns Strokers in Dallas who I bought my Vision from had ridden the Vision on some short rides around Dallas but had not put any day or multi-day miles on one.  Just over a month ago he did a week long chump ride with three of his friends. Rick was riding his custom Harley bagger, two others where on Victory Vision’s and the other on another Harley bagger. Rick was about 170 miles out when his Harley broke down and he had his team bring him a new Vision to ride for the rest of the trip. This was the first time Rick had an opportunity to ride a Vision for several days in everything from high Texas heat to torrential rain and he is now a convert. He said he finally understood why I and his other Vision customers are so fanatical about the Vision. He said it is the most comfortable, best handling bike with the best weather protection of any bike he had ever ridden. Rick is a friend of Arlen Ness and had heard him tell many stories of how great the Vision is but he just couldn’t relate to just how much better it was to any other bike he had ever ridden until he rode it for a few days.

okay, who here has there real numbers? It's fine either of us can say what we want or what we hear from other folks, but the real numbers are what puts the proof in the puddin'. Now, I have no more basis to say that Victory is dropping the Vision as anyone to say it is staying, none of us work in corporate HQ.

Besides, I like to hear everyone defend the world greatest bike. 1,700 in two days. 1,000 more to go before Barstow...

I don't have time now but in the past I have read most of the Polaris 10K reports on edgar and in a couple of them they state that over 50% of the bikes they had sold in 2009 were Visions. When I find this section from the 10K's I will post them.

Spock, I'm really not trying to bust chops on anyone. Next year I'll say the same thing just to stir the pot. The Goldwinger have been doing that for years and years, and I'm sure the Harley folk do the same thing. However, it is interesting to note I spoke to one dealer, not to mention the name, but they say their Vision sales suck. I'm like this, as I know you are, I got mine, as long as they support it for a few years down the road it don't matter if they never make another one. With that said, a whole lot of people would be missing out.

Since on the road I've seen about 6 Vics. 2 were Vision, 1 I met today, TEX from theVMC. Funny thing is I'm out in the middle of nowhere, Four Corner Monument, and here pulls us a BMW and a Vision.
