Northeastern Penna. | After reading Radioteachers tutorial on Ipods, I'm looking at buying an ipod online. All I want is to download music and play it,as an alternative to my Sirius satellite, on my 08 Vision. The ipod nano's
generation 1,2 or 3 don't need the charging adapter, correct ?Am I ok getting those earlier nano's or would I be better off with the later ones, probably have more capacity on the later models, although I
don't think I would need to download anymore than 500 songs. Any opinion would be appreciated. |

Kincardine, Ontario, Canada | I've been looking for a broken one on line, either having a bad battery, no working display, or the click wheel not responding, since I'll leave it hooked up and using the bike's controls.
You are right any of the early versions of Nanos would be fine |

Chattanooga, TN | I got a 3rd gen nano off of ebay for about $60. Works great with the visions sound system. Someone returned it to the store, so it was an open box purchase. I don't care about the box anyway. If you get the cheap noncharging ipod cable, and then get a charge converter from http://www.cablejive.com/products/Charge-Converter.html for 19.99 USD you won't wear out the battery through charge/discharge cycles and it should last longer. |

I am glad the old document still helps out. I need to take some tome to bring it up to date.
I bought both of mine at Pawn Shops. The last one was a Gen 3 iPod Nano 8 GB for $65 dollars. I take in my own headphones to test them with and try to buy one that comes with a cable and charger.
My first one has a bad backlight on the display but works fine.
Now I make sure that everything functions. If it has issues I check out another or go to the next shop.
Now that the Gen 5s are out the Gen 3s should be cheaper in my opinion.

Ruskin, Fl | I just orederd this gizmo. The price has gone up to $22.95 plus 6 bucks shipping. I don't really care about it charging. I'm hoping it tricks the iphone into thinking the Vision radio is an "optimized device". Every few songs it stops playing and I have to either turn the radio off and back on or hit dismiss on the phone. This was after I had the latest firmware done on the radio. |
