New Bohemia, VA | With the hot days ahead I needed to make a pad for the kick. I took a 2"X3" steel cut from a saw blade and folded a piece of leather over it. I drilled holes and bolted on the open end and also used a plastic clamp through the bolt to tie the string. It is still in the making as I want to get a red or orange cord to make it more noticable. For now, it works as is.
