I downloaded the splash screen image that Mike S posted. My question is how do I get it to the gps. I downloaded ximage and can't figure it out. Right now I have it as a shortcut on the desktop in windows photo gallery. Thanks for all your help.

I don't know. My GPS is working perfectly and I'm not going to mess with it. I've killed other products attempting to perform a simple Mod. However, I would assume you have two methods. Connect it to your computer via the USB cable or try to import it using the SD card. Keep us posted. Good Luck! If you get lost, don't blame me as I'm still trying to find Starbucks. Is there one around here?

What GPS do you have?

If you have a Garmin 2820, you need to hook your Garmin up to the USB port and the 110 AC power converter.

The name of the file to be downloaded has to be named "Splash Screen".

You then select "Splash Screen" from the software download program.

The Ximage program is pretty brain dead.  It only allows you to up/download 2 files and their filenames are hard coded.  If the file names do not match, it can't find them.

The procedure should be the same as the 2820.
