Posts: 741 Central New York | Since I first got my Vision the warmest it's been has been in the lower 70's. It has always been a quiet bike. Had it to the dealer for some work and they warranted the rear pulley to get the belt chirp out. Since I got it back it has been in the high 80"s. Now I have a lot of gear noise, like an old OSHGOSH, especially when under load, in all gears. Seems to stop when not under a load. Oil is about 1500 and at level. Question: Is excessive gear noise in hot weather normal or did something go arry during maintenance?

This is probably due to thinning of the oil at higher temps. You should notice 5th gear is much quieter. Has to do with the gear configuration in that gear. Everyone seems to notice the same thing when they are new to the Vics. |

| You have a huge amplifier by way of the fairing, so yes it can be a noisy bugger, most VTwins are anyhow. Low to mid seventies seem to be ideal for the Vision and short shifting seems to help some as well. When I say short shifting I'm talking cruising speeds of say 45 while in 5th gear. |

that's right on wroman, it does get quieter with age. with the pipes it almost seems too quiet. |

Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | I've got 45K on mine and find it gets somewhat louder at about 1.5K after an oil change. Nothing drastic but you can hear a difference. And in the summer in AZ. its the same, as winter, noise wise. So i just turn the music up and look for shade along the ride.
