| I rode about 120 miles yesterday and experienced a problem with my radio/CB. I noticed that when I keyed the CB, it did not transmit through the headset. After a few more miles, with the radio still playing, I could not transmit at all.
Then I discovered that none of the radio/cb/intercom controls worked (radio still playing, cb still on channel one). I could not even turn off the system. Finally when I got home, I thought the radio would reset when I turned the bike off.
The radio keep playing, even with the bike off. So I disconnected the battery. After I reconnected it, everything worked normally.
This seems similar to the issue that was in the '08 Radio problem?
Could heat cause this? | |

Posts: 160 Lennox, SD | I had the same type of problem on my 09, the radio and the display froze.
I thought it would reset when I turned the key off but it remained on.
I then bumped the starter button and everything returned to normal and problem has not reappeared.
I thought it was something I had done.

| Take it to the dealr so he can make sure the right update is installed. What occured is the radio locked obviously, so the trick is to get it to unlock. You were on the right track by turning off the ignition and back on. Sometimes you may need to restart the bike and shut down, or cycle the key on and off a couple to half dozen times. Reflashing with the latest update should cure the issue. | |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | how wet has it been lately? washed, rain? the little circuit cards in the switch cases will do that where there is moisture in there. The cards themselves should be sealed not to do that, but mine does it with no ill affect when dried out. Also, if you have had the center console off, make sure you the plugs are pressed together all the way. I had a locking experience recently that lasted a few months such as you described. I made double sure the connectors were in all the way and I heard the click I had not heard in the past.
