VisionTex and I rode northern Arkansas back roads for about 6 hours straight yesterday.  This video is less than two minutes of it.   (I've got to buy a helmet cam.  Chasing him one-handed is quite the challenge.)  It was a perfect 76 degrees.  Every time we have ridden together it has been spectacular.

I'm holding the camera at shoulder level to keep it out of the wind, plus I wanted to get the GPS in there.  My actual view is about 6" above the windshield.

Thanks Jeff, I'm honored!  VisionTex is soooo fun to follow.  He is so dang smooth, it's ridiculous.  When he sets his line on the edge on that centerstripe in a left-hand turn, it's like he is painting it.

We had all of Arkansas to ourselves yesterday.

Looks like a nice forecast for Saturday.  Push Mountain Road is in great shape but some of the surrounding roads have isolated patches of fresh asphalt and gravel.  I wish I had 5 days to ride that whole area.

Ride safe!  It's probably gonna be busy on the weekend.  No cops around.

p.s. - These guys will surely be there for the weekend.  I don't know where they set up.  Same concept as killboy.com on the Dragon.   http://www.pushmountainpics.com/

Songfan,

That brings back memories of riding with you guys last year.

BTW, My daughter and Son-in-law are moving to Memphis in August. I am working on the arrangements now that when we go to visit I ride and the wife flies. How about a ride with you and Pollolitte?

I've seen it listed at 25 and 30 miles. So lets let it go at 27.5 miles and call it good enough.

Someone mounted a cam down low on the bike and you get a feel for the turns and maybe a little wind too. Nice Video like usual.

I gotta write that down in my books, shouldn't be too far for just a day jaunt, if I get out early enough.

RadiosouthernTeacher - when you get this way give a holler, don't know if I can get loose for a ride but you never know. I still have to get Songfan up my way for a ride out West of Brighton. Wife wanted to go on a little jaunt yesterday for about an hour. Nice twisties, cause she was clutching on just a little tighter than normal. It was fun.

For you guys that are interested in this area, Google Map Marshall, AR and zoom in until the scale in the bottom left of the screen says 10 miles.  Throw a dart at the map and go ride some of the best roads in the country.  Hwy 341 is the road to the northeast, coming out of the "N" in the word "Norfork".  In the words of KevinX - I don't care about numbers.  I look at curves.

RadioTeach - Definitely give us a heads up.  Only time I will be out of town in August will be for the AVR.

I am currently uploading raw footage from the ride so that you guys can critique our style.  Watch for a new thread.

Po - My days off the the middle of the week makes it tough to hook up with the real world.  Sure makes it nice having the world to myself on Tuesdays and Wednesdays though.

Tuesday was a great day for riding in the hills of Arkansas. I really like this area, doesn't make much difference where you ride in central to the northwest Arkansas, it is nice. Several WHOAs. Coming out of Russellville, dump truck just ahead of us full of wet dirt, back door came open and dumped a third of the load. Later in the afternoon, came over an curve with a hill and there was a school bus dropping off some kids, that was a quick stop, and the last was what I call a turkey buzzard...he was on roadkill and a truck scared him up, but I'm coming from the other direction, he went up about twenty feet turned around and came right back down. He didn't see me and I thought he was going to stay up. SF says he flew between me and the trunk...I don't know just that he was close.
Wednesday, I continued on my trip, through the mid-west and was on my way to stop in Kansas City, rained almost all the way. I'd rather ride 800 miles in the sun and heat than 200 miles in the cold and rain...that sucks.

That turkey buzzard was surreal.  The airflow from VisionTex's bike literally pushed it's wing up, over the windshield while V-Tex was ducking to the right, and then the wing came down over his helmet and looked like it probably flicked the back seat.

The stopped school bus (opposite lane) was definitely a WHOA! moment coming over a hill.  I wasn't filming at the time or would have surely stalled the bike getting stopped with no clutch.  As it was, it was a controlled max braking stop and the bus driver seemed genuinely impressed that we stopped in time.

On any other bike, there would not be any one-handed videos to watch.  I was constantly on red alert for deer jumping out but never saw any.

I rode Push mountain road with some friend on May 22. Go to pics site and go to touring bikes for may 22. I'm pictures 58 thru 62. Great shots of the Vision showing it underside and yes I'm riding it two up on the darkside. Pics are good enough I'm going to have to buy them.

Hey Buzz,

You had the most lean going by far among the Touring bikes that day.  One couple on a blue Goldwing looked good but everyone else looked pure vertical in comparison.  Glad it was a nice day for you guys.  Such a fun road.
