Posts: 135 Yellowknife, NT Canada | I talked to Clearwater today. they have bundled a high/lo beam relay now in the package. So the LED lights go to the set level on low beam, but go to full bright on high beam..
They have also connected them to the horn to give high beam flash when the horn is pressed..
I suggested they look at a daytime modulator of the LED lights, so they pulse in the daytime and go solid at night..
Any other ideas you want to share? I will pass them on.. |

Posts: 135 Yellowknife, NT Canada | Radioteacher I suggest you contact Glenn at Clearwater whe you are ready. He has been very accomodating, and seemed happy to offer this again to Vision-Riders..
Also when I talked with Glen today I found out they have the Nickle color caps available now. They did not do chrome, because these are stronger and are almost identical.
Cheers.. |

It is not Glen I need to worry about....its my wife! I am keeping this Vision a very long time. I am sure that these will be on my Vision some day.

Posts: 135 Yellowknife, NT Canada | I hooked mine up on the vision this past weekend. I soldered wire to the diode and used heat shrink and electric grease to close them up and then installed them. One diode to the horn button output, the second to the high beam output. Both connect to the Clearwater relay included with the kit. I mounted the adjustable pot behind the radio controls. So I can leave the lights set at a particular light level. I add a Victory aux light switch to my console so I can turn them on or off. When I hit high beams on the bike the LEDs go full, when I go low beam they drop to the level set by the brightness control. Also when I hit the horn on the bike, the light go high for that same duration..
Nice install. Recommend this product. I have to cut down an allen key to be able to tighten up the lights and adjust them. Be prepared to do the same, there was not enough clearance to use an allen bit and small wrench either. A cut down key was perfect.
Cheers.. |

Posts: 33 Attleboro, MA | I have a question on the install of these lights.... I plan on putting them on this weekend. I don't know if
I like where they tell you to put the brightness control...
"The recommended location for the light volume control pot is mounted into
fairing on left side Measure in 3/4" forward of glove box door and 3/4" left of inside edge of
faring."
The question is for those of you that have installed these lights... Where did you put the Light Volume Control Knob"
Thanks

Posts: 3204 Memphis | Tarpits99 has a great write-up with photos here: http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=4881&posts=89&mid=59929&highlight=clearwater&highlightmode=1&action=search#M59929 (Scroll up to the middle of the page.) I used the same location he did (left handlebar) but mounted it so that the opening for the knob housing faced down. The link shown above has a lot of good info, read the whole thing. Good luck, you're gonna love 'em! |
