I looked at the wiring chart for the 2008 Vision. Did you lose front and back blinkers? The front blinkers and the front display share a ground, but the back blinkers have a separate ground.

Thanks. i dont know if the back were out. i was the last bike in line and when i got home i didnt look specifically at the back. if they were working i would probably have seen the reflection when i tried them in the garage so my guess is they were not working either. If it happens again i will be sure to get off and check all the way aound. it happened an hour after the bike was inspected so i know everything should have been working.

XHR, occassionally I notice quirks with the bike and I write it off as some electronic fluke. I know for most part it is no excuse, but it is equivalent to being on a dark desert highway and a UFO makes strange thinks happen. Of course, if you take it to the mechanic, they'll find nothing. I've had the radio do the freak. I had the dash go to zero on everything and the bike still be running. I turned it off several times and back on again nothing changed. Got home and went out to check it over and all was well. When the bike started acting up I thought it was in the electronics. Even though it is electronic I'm glad it could be pinned to the fuel pump. Right now everything is running perfect so I'll be content.

I just shared that so no one would think they were crazy when the Vision goes crazy. With that being said, I've seen a lot of crazy "one-time" things on many vehicles.

I fully believe that electrics will be the nemesis of the Vision. There have been many postings of shorts caused by wiring draped over sharp edges. If you look, the wiring looks hap-hazardly done. Now compare it to how HD does theirs, all routed neatly, tied off, and encapsulated.
It is and remains the only criticism I have of Victory, and will probably be why if HD comes out with a new touring bike, that I will switch back.
.....maybe
