How many agree that the Vision engine is adequate and stage 1 or 2 is not needed and have left thier bike stock.

Me, me, me, and me. Did I say me? With that said, IF I had more power I'd probably be dead by now so I appreciate the implied restraint of not having upgraded the Bentley so far. I have NEVER been in any circumstance where I felt I needed more power, pull or speed on the Vision. Coming off the GL1200 where I had to pull back many times as there was just not enough to accomplish what I needed to do, the Vision is a vast improvement over that.

I have also hit the highest limit I care to ride on an American highway and will say I had no need of doing that either. I will not state the top speed I have been so as not to increminate myself, but can say it got there before I knew it and rode like it was meant to. I was in shock when I glanced at the speedo and felt like a fool since. My wife would take away my keys if she only knew.

I have yet to find a situation where I needed more torque / HP than I have. Geared up the wife and I are probably pushing to within a hundred lbs of the GVWR.

Would I like a Kevinx installed Lloyds Cam and a VFC?
Absolutely!

Do I need it?
No.

Only had mine about two months, 3500 miles, and I'm totally satisfied to date. In addition to what everyone has said so far, about 80 % of my miles are two up with my better half. The bike has plenty of spare power when needed.

I know a lot of guys like the sound they get from the performance exhausts, but it don't care about that, and I really don't like all the complications brought about when you change the balance designed into the bike's power system.

I have run stock and I love it not only do I have plenty of power I saved a bunch of money and I can hear the XM radio at 75 MPH with it set on 7 no noise maker to have to compete with so all in all for my money the best way to go. This is being said by a man who once looked at a sugercharged Vallkrye with nitrous and said I would ride it at least once jsut to see what it would be like. Go figure. Archie

Mines bone stock and it is plenty. Of course if one is inclined to like a wee bit more excitement the Lloyds upgrade would be the way to go. My understanding is that efficiency is greatly improved with that upgrade, but I have no pops or other issues so why tempt fate......

Ditto. I have a friend who has a S1L1 kit on his, he rode mine one day and said he wouldn't have done his if he knew then what he knows now. Not that it was a major problem or anything, it was just a pain to get it right and it had to be downloaded more than once etc. I think he did it more to impress his Harley buddies than anything. Why would you want to change it? So you can't hear the radio as well? When I have a little more cash than I am comfortable with in my back pocket or under my mattress, I think I will go for the Lloydz cam upgrade, though.

The engine is totally adequate stock, I went S1L1 because the tranny whine early on was the loudest I had ever heard and I just liked the throatier sound of the exhaust.  I listen to XM at 8/9 and that's more because of wind pressure than the exhaust.

For the last 30 years, I have owned bikes that would do the 1/4 in less than 13 seconds. This translates into very quick passing and spirited real-world performance. My stock VV with Stage I was not up to the level that I was used to.
My KevinXinated VV now performs like my much lighter/quicker bikes. HAPPINESS IS..... more power!

At age 66 I still drive agressively - and have always owned spirited automobiles for that reason. And I drive wisely - have not had any accidents or moving violations for at least 30 years. Last accident was 48 years ago. (... touch wood <grin> )

Thanks, Kevin !

Couldn't agree more.. they're fine stock....but having made the upgrades that I have with a good dyno tune...I think she's spot on. I have always appreciated making the big air pumps breath more efficiently. Easy in + easy out = a few more HP???,, I'm ok with that.. Even having the exhaust upgrade I have Zero problem hearing the radio at highway speed....well with a couple Alpines up front. So I guess I'm not understanding why, by making these beast's breathe better there are more problems?? However if I didn't have the ability to do these things would stock be satisfactory??? Undoubtedly....just this guys 2 cents.

Stock is great with the engine this size. Who wants to go faster with more power on 2 wheels? Not I !

I plan to leave my Vision completely stock, I spent several thousand dollars trying to make my last bike ride and handle like a touring bike.
I decided on the Vision because everything is already there.

varyder, correct me if I'm wrong...doesn't the stock motor have a better power curve (remember it's not about the numbers) when riding in the snow. Now where is that posting of the power curve?

Yes! Brings a new meaning to "Romancing the Throttle"

(and you would have to remind me, now I'll have nightmares of tractor-rigs ridin' my tail across ice-covered bridges on the deadliest road in the world... lOl)

+1 I kept mine stock for over a year and loved it. Now I have the S1L2, Ness airbox, and KevinX magic with the LLoyds and I love a whole lot more.

While stock was fine, I did upgrade mine to a L2 AND cams! Why? Simple, I live at altitude (5280 feet) to start. IF I decide to hit the mountains, I can climb those in 6th gear fully loaded with me, a HUGE back on trunk and my GF behind me. The bike performed fine stock but it was just a bit wimp'ish. The first change was to the L2s and that helped. The second add was to the cams and now I am no longer shifting from 2 to 3 and back to 2 when going over strong grades. It has made the rides nicer and my work much less. This thing rocks at altitude now. I rode to Vegas a year or so ago and DAMN THIS THING PULLS hard! Woohoo!

So, knowing what it does in Vegas, I will add that I would not have changed a thing had I been at a lower altitude.
