Does anyone know what is changed when the Performance Air Cleaner download is performed? Is it just the fueling map or do they change the timing as well? The reason I ask is that when the stage I air filter and download was done on my Harley the biggest difference was the download rather than the air filter. I bought the kit and had the dealer do the download before I took it home to install the air filter. I noticed an immediate increase in performance which didn't get all that much better after the air cleaner itself was installed. On my Vision I installed the Arlen Ness Big Sucker but didn't get the download since I have a PCV. I was just wondering if I've left something on the table performance wise by not doing the download if it actually changes the ignition map. I wonder if the PCV can effect the ignition map. I kinda didn't think so since there is no connection to the ECM directly, only to fueling components. Anybody know?

The timing and a lot of other parameters are changed. I know this because my original (now out of business, no surprise) had me running the stock map with the S1 L2 exhaust.

To prove it to my old dealer in San Antonio (Ironhorse of San Antonio) the my dealer in Austin (Napalm) provided me printouts of the parameters of the STOCK map that my bike had when I pulled into their shop and another with S1L2 parameters after Naplam reprogrammed the Vision to S1 L2. Both printouts had my VIN on it to show it was my Vision.

They did not like the fact that I went to another dealer and caught them burning me. I kept telling them that the map was wrong....they said they checked it and it was right.

Next time you are in for service see if the dealer can print it out for you. If I find the old papers I will post them.

Thanks for the info. I emailed my tuner to see if the PCV can be used to adjust the ignition map on the Vision. Probably what I should do is to have the download done and then have it re-tuned with the PCV. More money

i have the s1l1 setup with the intake plate and reflashed s1l1 map (have printout showing s1l1 fuel map installed..)my vision ran like crap until i installed the pcv. the map im using is the M19-006-005 Victory Performance stage 1 exhaust , Ness top filter with K&N performance filter, Stock ECM, much more power, even on a cold morning start! i m wondering if your pcv maps isnt right or lean so when u added the vic map it just enrichened it...? on the pcv website i dont see a map for the setup u mentioned... thats probably the real issue. btw sorry for my typing, im one armed for the next few weeks....

I probably didn't explain it well. Let me do it again. My bike has Cycle Dragon cans and the Arlen Ness Big Sucker intake filters. It also has a PCV which was dyno tuned before the air filters were changed. I have not done the S1 download from the dealer. I was just wondering if it would run stronger with the S1 download. I would then probably have to have the PCV tuned again or update the map to the one you mentioned above. I guess the least expensive way to go would be to get the download from the dealer and then get the PCV map or do you think I would be better off not to get the dealer download and just get the PCV map you mentioned?

You guys are obviously talking about the same component (PCV) but what exactly is it? Not a PCV valve appparently because I've never seen a programablae one. LOL
