Need help adjusting the glove compartment

It is too far down when closing. I see no adjustments. Can someone help me here. I would take it back but they are an hour away each way. Pop the cover off in front of the seat, that touches the door. There are 3 bolts that fasten the left side dash. Loosen all three, and slide dash forward. It might get caught up on speaker grill. but its all in the left side dash moving.
