Posts: 329 scotts valley, California | Hopefully it will not offend anyone when I tell you that I am having some 12 inch wide patches made that resemble the oval Victory logo. They should look pretty cool with bright gold wings, bright blood red 777 in the center where the V is in the logo, and the words "IN JESUS" around the bottom in the same letters as "VICTORY" around the top. I think I can pass these along to whoever might want one for about $50. Anyone interested? |

| No need to apologize for what you believe. If someone is offended by your religious preference tell them to call the founding fathers. |

Posts: 164 Quad Cities, IL | Hey all...it is awesome to see this string of messages here. I am definitely interested in seeing the patch when complete. And may be interested in sporting one as well.
I have actually been working up a paint scheme for my '08 SSG using all grey tones and having images of Christ the king adorned in His crown of thorns, and "vines of thorns" (instead of the more common tribal tatoo or flames) going across the sides and saddles. And a winged cross similar to the attached that would dress up the front fairing.
I have a great artist in the area that painted my previous bike, but I am not quite ready to belly up the $3k that she is looking for to custom paint the Vision...at least at this point.
God is Good...all the time.
All the time...GOD IS GOOD!
God Bless,

Posts: 329 scotts valley, California | Sounds like a great idea for a paint job. I had a concept, but not the funds to have it done, of a pictorial gospel message. On the left side Eve and Adam partaking, in the center an arch bridge over a valley with bones, and an accession scene on the right. The bridge, of course, representing Christ, and the valley of death representing sin. ------------- I think we are close to getting a print of the patch, but if it doesn't happen today, it'll be eight or ten days from now. |

Apparently you misunderstood my meaning, meeting him while alive is to meet my Savior, meeting him after death is to meet my judge. |

Although your intentions are good and heartfelt, remember that the Victory oval is the trademarked property belonging to Polaris industries, and cannot be used legally without their permission.
Unfortunately, I know this from personal experience with Polaris.

Posts: 238 SF Bay Area | My personal opinion...? Sure, why not.
What would I do...? Make the design different enough so that there is no way a person would mistake it for the trademarked logo (either Polaris or the VMC), and run with it. Shape alone is not the trademark. Be careful to not use their wings or lettering.
If you want, you can always send it to me for an opinion. I am the guy who trademarked the VMC logo back in 2001.

Posts: 329 scotts valley, California | Just got back from a one week mission trip away from the net. Work on the patch is resuming. VMC and Polaris should not take issue. There are enough differences to where there should be no trademark issues. I just hope that Jesus does not take issue!
Mike, thanks for your offer to review the design; I will post it here as soon as I have an electronic image.
This patch on the back of a rider on a Victory motorcycle should open as many doors for discussion about Victory motorcycles as it does for discussions about Jesus. |

Posts: 329 scotts valley, California | Thanks for posting the image for me, Crispin. BTW, can I borrow a couple of brain cells? Thanks to Kevin, some of mine blew out the back door.
I am told that the little threads that connect letters in the image will not be there on the final product.
If people express an interest and Mike does not talk me out of it, I'll look into having some 3.5 inch ones made. It seems like the price should go down on reorders, too, the software being all complete. The first two 12 inch patches cost me $69.86 each plus shipping. Then the price dropped to about $45, so I can put one in an envelope and ship it off for $50. |

Just ask the NAZIs who opened the Ark of the Covenant in that Indiana Jones movie. Still, the piratefish skeleton was pretty cool. This guy must be some kind of graphic arts major. |

Posts: 329 scotts valley, California | "Religion" in my book is just another word for philosophy; each to his own, we all need something to live by. Truth and faith, on the other hand are another matter, not so easy for some of us to come by. Mine came late in life; I'd like to say in a Vision, but that isn't the way it happened. |
