Would there be any difference between the balck ness instrument bezel I could order or if I painted the chrome one black? Basically is the surface texture the same or is the ness one smooth?

I painted mine gloss black and it looks great. one thing i did do on mine was tape off the inside of the ring so the outside is gloss black but the inside is still chrome. it looks kick ass.
If i knew how to post a picture i would , but i dont LOL

If you click on the hyperlink on the bottom of this post then go to my gallery, its on page 46 (yeah you gotta scroll a bit to get there.)

I painted mine with KRYLON satin black and am really happy with the results....didn't do any prep other than cleaning and the paint smoothed out the texture.

I did the same thing with KRYLON satin black . And covered the console
with carbon fiber. I like the look.

Main downside to Carbon fiber overlay material is that it will not hold up to UV. Lifespan is only a couple years in real sunny locations.

The website says good for 4 year outdoor use.... It was easy and cheap enough to
pull it off and do it again in a few years.
