Posts: 92 Eau Claire WIS. 09 vision | we had a guy this weekend on a bike he owned for two days get blown across the center line into a milk truck... 30 to 35 mph wind gusts... wind can be nasty if you don't see it coming or have limited rideing time...dave |

| I think having a warning, "Motorcycles heavy crosswinds on bride, speed limit XX", would be nice. Of course how many riders would do what it says? Crosswinds are different for each rider. Kind of like having "sea legs". The wind had to be heavy before getting to the bridge so the all riders should be on the alert anyway. Since Mr. Spock has retired from acting I guess I will take his spot, "Well Captain, it's only logical that riders realize that today may not be a good day to ride across the bridge." How many riders do you know would park their bikes and wait out the wind or call someone to pick them up in a cage? |

Posts: 741 Central New York | I might disagree about how much advanced warning you might get before crossing a bridge. I know that you can go up I81 and be in a very light to no wind condition and get really blasted going over the river to Wellsey Island. I think a sign might help a rider get his attention focused if unfamiliar with the road. |
