Posts: 97 Okeefenokee Swamp | Yesterday while riding with the wife, she asked for me to adjust the windscreen.I pressed the switch and nothing happened. I stopped at a gas station and checked the fuse and sure enough it was blown. I attempted to replace the fuse and blew before I got it seated well. At this point, since the ignition was off and should not have had power,I unplugged the windshield motor and tryed another fuse. The fuse blew. All I know about electricals on a bike, and that is not very much, tells me that the windshield motor is not the problem,it has to be the switch or the wiring harness.Anybody else had this happen and have you any suggestions?

| I had shorts in my wiring harness from rubbing against the edge between the 2 halves of the left hand fuel tank. This had been my radio problems since new and finally damaged a wire to stop my bike from starting. Victory had a whole new harness installed. The Mech said he glued a hose piece over the edge plus moved the harness over.
Something to look at. |

Posts: 20 Chesapeake, VA | I had an issue with my GPS harness. I had not been using my GPS and had left the wire hanging under the fairing, and of course I threw out that little plastic cover that Garmin had included with the cable. What was happening, was that cable would ground on the fork or some other piece of metal and it would blow the main fuse. Took me a couple of goes to figure out what was happening. Not sure this has or would ever happen to anyone else, but thought I would share, after all it was a semi-mysterious electrical glitch |
