New Bohemia, VA | Rt 231 is a very scenic route through farmland and the foothills that runs from the south at Gordonsville to the north end at Sperryville. Sperryville sits at the foot of the mountain that Skyline drives runs across. Both Gordonsville and Sperryville is a summertime biker's destination with a few eating establishments. I don't know enough to promote any at this time, but hope to ride this route again in a more leisurely manner and give a report. There is a small-time leathershop in Sperryville that focuses on biker attire, mostly for the high HD crowd in that area. Don't expect a lot of stuff, but if you need something fixed or sewn I think he can handle that with ease.
The good part of this route is that you'll not be disappointed getting there. If you come across the mountain on US Rt 211 you'll find that to be thrill to itself.
