When a new model or motorcycle is introduced there is always the impact of change and acceptance. When HD introduced the FLT in 1980 with the dual headlight fairing it was a flop in the HD world as nobody wanted the change. However the 5 speed tranny and rubber mounted engines were the genesis of the future for them. I had one that made 12,000 miles before needing a complete rebuild. That same bike with the bat wing fairing became the norm (Electraglide) with the Evo, TC motors and some 20 years later was reintroduced with the twin headlight as the Tourglide.
The Excelsior Henderson tried in vane to bring change but the diehards wouldn't accept the 4 valve overhead cam engine. The tech stock crash as well as other management issues brought down the 100 million dollar kick at change. The purists reigned once again.
Victory however has taken a more pragmatic approach by following nobody and paving their own way with their own culture based on a strong product line. The Vision I feel is in the same ballpark as HD was in 1980 with the FLT. It is the genesis for the future of Victory and motorcycling. It feels great to be a part of it.
Cloning is for Sheep.

Sorry. I should have said that HD brought back the dual headlight version as the Roadglide.

People dont realize how much it takes to start a new motorcycle co. The Indian was just an S&S motored special construction HD. THe Ex, Henderson didnt have the capital to stick it out until people got to know the product. Victory has an established co. with a good rep. behind it. Who would have ever thought HD would be advertising on TV?

I think the American Bikers are just as smart as always, and although I have seen 1 commercial for Victory, word of mouth will do just as well. Victory might be waiting for this first year just to make sure it's on the right track (which they are). Ads just make me think someones trying to push a product at me. I turn the channel during advertising. An infomercial would be cool. Just play the advertising disk once a week. As long as Bill Mayfare isn't screaming at me to try his new wall hanger thingy bobber, or some other crap, I might watch it. brrrrrp I need coffee...more coffee. Hey, cj, why are you still awake?

I know what you mean about the weather. I rode in tonight. Clear, chilly 42 degrees. Windy as all get out, but didn't notice it until I was going north on the base. Now thats a good bike. I rode 30 miles without even realizing it was windy! I guess it was at my back the whole ride in. Maybe we could film a commercial (since your in Hollywood) and send it to them? I got an idea, I'll wear those protect skivvies the RosyPalmBeach rider is trying out and we could advertise for both the Vision and Kevlar underwear. I'm not proud, I'll get a bikini wax and wear the tassles. All I need is my Buckeye cap, kevlar skivvies, flip flops and bail money. You in?

lol. My first date with my wife,,,,was great. She should have ran for the hills then. We had seen each other for coffee a few times. Then we went out for NewYears 1986. I ended up hammered ( I blame on working so hard in the glass factory in Toledo at the time) and since I couldn't drive, she called my father to pick me up at 0200. She said I was break dancing against the wall of this night club, and had to go outside to find my dad sitting in the p-lot at 0300. I don't remember the break dancing, just the next day asking for forgiveness. She mentioned that the bouncers didn't remove me, because I was their entertainment, and wasn't bothering anyone.
I married her in August of 1986. She should have ran when she had the chance. Back then I kept my clothes on in that condition.

My wife and I have been together 10 years(just married her 2 yrs. ago) She's 14 yrs., younger, I thought it was just gonna be a one night thing. I'm (we are) happy drunks. In my life time I have found its cheaper to pay a cab $1000 to drive us home than to do it myself. My wife dosent have many friends because she tells it like it is. Too many women looking for a man as a career. Her dad died when she was 16 and didnt have a choice but to go to work to take care of the family. She doesnt work now(my idea) but she doesnt take the freeloading crap from any female.

sounds like a great match. my wife doesn't work either, i asked her to quit and raise our daughter. I firmly believe that one of the parents needs to be at home for the children. I wasn't having a daycare raise my kid. I guess thats old fashioned, but we do ok, and my daughter is a great kid.

Bucky, you are one crazy Yankee.

A good friend of mine once told me that a good friend will come bail you out of jail at 3 AM. But a true friend will be right there in jail with you going "Sumbitch!! Was that fun or what?"

Does this mean we're friends again? "Why can't we all just get along?"

Hey, I like my protective skivvies!

Just call them what they are! Bullet proof Depends! lol...Lord forgive me...all the pygmies in south america..
rosypalmbeachrider, i'm on my last 2 nights of ..well nights. I was doing good all month. I was reading your daily updates, but when you bring up bullet proof skivvies and how to adjust while riding,,,one of my lugnuts start doing the "lefty loosy, righty tighty". Buy the way, if take me seriously, i'll need you to up my medication. I OBJECT YOUR HONOR! sustained. I would like to show that my client was no where near the skivvies on the night in question. I will also show, that the Defendant (Please show the prosecuter points an angry finger in the direction of rosypalmbeachrider) not only took a shot to the "jimmy", but in fact, did take a poop at the same time. NO FURTHER QUESTIONS, HIT ME , ONE MORE BEER and a 'wha chew talken bout Willis"? I think a brother needs to back away from the keyboard...slowly...

Hit him with more caffeine, give him some old school Jolt Cola. Hit him till he starts oscillating, that's vibrating for you non-technical folks, then again some of you on here might like that more than others, Ladies.
