| Did not know if anyone had this problem but the bike will die when I'm riding. It is an electrical deal because everything dies and the radio goes to defalt settings. It will start back up and be alright for another hour and then it happens again. The bike is an 08 with 12500 miles. I ihad LLoyds cams installed with a Ness controller about 3k ago. I do not see any loose connections. Just wondered if anyone had seen this issue.
Thanks

Posts: 208 Edmonton Alberta, Canada | Mine has done that a couple of times, the comon cause is a hugh pot hole, one where the front suspension bottoms out. Have checked wiring, conections etc. I believe it is a tolerance issue, where only a hard bump shorts out something in the charging system. I could spend hours trying to find it, or spend hours riding. I however choose to spend my time in the saddle, If and when the situation becomes worse or more often, I'm sure the problem will become easier to find and repair. Now my problem only has happened a couple of times but electrical issues can take up valuable riding time. |

There are 3 electrical recalls on 08 Visions intended to address potentially dangerous loss of control due to power failure. If these have not been done on your bikes it would be a good idea to deal with them ASAP.
See link above type in your model and year for details.

Never a problem since then. Which is good, because it almost got me smeared one day on an on-ramp to the freeway. |

| I had an issue like this on a Harley. Turned out to be the main fuse was heating up and then separating. So my suggestion is if the recalls are done on your bike, get it in and have them check he main, bu first make sure you have a good battery with good lead connections. |

Posts: 1340 Gainesville Fl Home of the Gators | Two different things that are known to cause this issue
1] Recall for the ignition switch coming out of its base. This is fixed in a recall with a rubber wedge
2] Loose nuts, or faulty main circuit breaker found under the plastic cover found on the front left of the engine. |

| My '99 did this and the ECU died. My '03 did this and it was a bad battery cable.
If the other suggestions fail have the wiring harness checked where it runs near the left fuel tank. The tank seam can cut through the wires. |
