What happened with Varyder?
Did a search, and found this thread to be his last posting. Seems to have been an over reaction. He was not one to hold back his own sarcasm, but obviously did not like it pointed at himself

Chris has taken a lot more than that. I saw that thread, but it'll be worse elsewhere. Kevin, you KNOW it is lighter over here than over there. |

Posts: 169 Iowa | Interesting facts. I'm new to this forum. I spend most of my internet time at the VMC, but I am adding a 2009 Vision to my garage tomorrow, so I've been looking for additional info that is Vision specific.
From my initial lurking the past few weeks, there is some good info. I am mostly interested in mods and paint currently, so I skip the areas that look like drama. I hope to get... and give good information from the forums here.

I almost wish the guy had a stayed if nothing more than to post his BLOG. He sold his Vision and is now somewhere else. So, I too must tip a adult beverage on the ground in remembrance and do five circles clockwise or was it counterclockwise. Where is he, I need guidance? Oh yeah, I'm gonna finish the beer and then let the remannancnts hit the ground on his behalf. |

He had more miles on a Vision than any of us, and he had the most to say.
Worth reading, even if you didn't agree with his thoughts. Kinda made up for the 50% of the members who have never said anything.
I wonder how many of you know that you can BLOCK another member's comments - if you feel that strongly about them ???? |

While interesting, this is not quite the whole picture, although a good part of it. I think it's very important to also note that we have over 4000 unique visitors each month. Which in a nutshell means about TWICE as many people VISIT this site in ONE MONTH, EVERY MONTH than have EVER posted here. ?The model specific sites of the Victory Riders Network (Vision-Riders, Kingpin-Riders, Vegas-Riders, Hammer-Riders and Cross-Riders) are primarily information sites. With each visitor spending an average of 12 minutes on the site, that tells me that a lot of people are doing research or just being entertained by the info they find. I'm fine with that as it helps pay the rent, and helps those vendors who advertise with us. There are sites that have "members" or "memberships" that's not really what we're about. Our Vision (excuse the pun) is more that of a bike shop that is also a cool place to hang. Think about the first time you went to your favorite bike shop. You likely went there for information about something, or to just check it out. Some people get their info, and just move on, while others come back just to talk bikes. We're all here (hopefully) cause we have a couple of things in common. We like motorcycles, we like the Vision (or the other models if you are on those sites). Some of those that supposedly "left" did so because maybe they were looking for something more than a place to talk bikes all the time. I find it hard to believe there is someone that doesn't want to talk bikes all the time... at least when they aren't talking about guitars... but they exist. That's fine. But to use my "bike shop" analogy, I do not believe they left.. There's nothing to leave... they just stopped coming in to hang out. There's a big difference. We get about 60-80 new folks registering each month... That's what is really important. New people interested in the Vision, new people interested in motorcycles, new riders, and enough of us hanging around the shop to make'em feel welcome, answer their questions, and let us do what we like to do most when we're not riding...... and that's talk about riding!!! Just my two cents worth... |

Posts: 2118 Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | Well said, Miles.
I am just sad about losing a 'friend' that I have never met. And hoped to, someday.
And I had hoped to prod some of the 'non-speaking' members into joining in - tell us what THEY think. Where THEY go, and what THEY like - or DON'T like.....
Maybe I gotta go join Chickinman and chase my bride neckid 'round the yard, maybe wearing a hemlet..... and stop spending so much time on this damn 'puter. Bye |

And just so that we're clear... (I know I'm gonna regret this...) Is it you or your wife that's gonna be neckid? No offence dude, but I don't think any of your neighbors want to see you running around the yard neckid with a helmet on... seriously... I got that image stuck now... thanks..
But seriously... I hear ya on missing friends you haven't met yet.. and trying to coax some of those lurkers out into the open. It's good to do once in awhile. We really don't bite... much... often...
We met a few of the lurkers at Spirit Lake last summer, and I've met a couple around town.
That's always fun. |

| My 2 cents...
One thing I have noticed over the years at most of the Victory sites is how owners will bad mouth another rider's bike. Just because it's not something they would buy or do to their bike doesn't give others the right to beat the guy down. It gets real bad when they pay to join, it's like since I paid my dues I HAVE to type something.
We need to pay attention to what we right. It's so much easier for something to understand it's joke when they can see our eyes.
Grandma always said, if you got nothing nice to say don't say a thing.

This forum and many other contain people who feel the way I do. I hope that this goes on forever but if the computer quits or the forum dies I will still be riding and enjoying my way thru the world. I hope if you have something to say you will share if not just take the beast out and ride because in the end that is the real message. Archie |

Posts: 411 Dallas, Texas | For me, these Forums are great sources of info on my bike, maybe share some experiences and stories. I was a VTX Forum member until I traded it for my Vision. Actually before my VTX, these forums didn't really do much for me, and they didn't seem all that popular. I just don't take them that seriously. They are great and I enjoy them, but to get mad about something said or implied here, it seems to me to be a waste of spirit. I will say though, that it seems like any comment I make pretty much either kills the thread, or gets ignored. But that's ok too. Like I said, this forum is really for fun, sharing and learning info on our great bikes. IMHO |

Actually the wife worked at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth. So like always I give her the shorter commute. Nice flip on the name. I may have to keep that in mind. |

Posts: 741 Central New York | Sorry! I just don't understand the hub-bub. So somebody left. His loss. I read the thread linked above and didn't see anything offensive to anyone. For a Vision owner/rider this site is priceless. Help is always a post away and you can learn the answers to question you didn't know you had.. Sure, there is some sarcasm in some replies, but no one has glued your eyeballs to the screen, look away! Like some other good sites, I glean what I what, ignore what I want, and if I have something to say or can help someone, I say what I want. Don't let this site, or any other get you down. That's what we have Washington for!

Hey Po, I'll be screaming through Memphis on my way to Barstow sometime this summer, grab them boots and helmet and hop on. Just don't smell my neck and hold on to Dr. Peper. Bah, where is BuCKeY anyways...
Well, got to go change my oil, AMSOIL 10w40 with a SuperTech 7317 filter, I just don't get it, I spend 42 bills for oil and 250 pennies for a filter. Oh, well, it works well. I'll be turning over 65,000 miles come Monday through the pouring rain at 4:00 am on the way to Atlanta Georgia. Gee, I was hoping it would snow...
I talked to few lurkers at Catlin's today. It was amazing they knew who I was when I was asked how did I like my Vision? All I said was, "Well, I've 64,778 miles on it and have loved every mile...." How could they have known it was me... I think there might be a few more Vision owners very soon.
By the way, I test road the Cross Country and I absolutely ....... love my Vision! |

College Park is not in my "world" so I don't know where to send to eat nor do I want to meet you in that area. If you are going to be in N.E. Atlanta in the Lake Lanier area I can meet up with you. I will need at least a half hours notice... |
