Posts: 177 Fredonia, WI United States | I took my Vision for a ride Thursday while the weather was nice. Weather turned less nice so it has been parked for about 3 days now. I went out there just now and there was no power at all! Turned the key to on, and nothing at all happened.
I checked all the fuses, even the ones that I didn't think had anything to do with the problem. All were good. I put my trickle charger on and it said that the battery was fully charged. I put my other charger on it and it kept telling me to check battery.
So I pulled the battery, and now my trickle charger says that it is charging. I will see what happens later when I hook it back up.
Am I missing anything else simple? What else could it be but a bad battery? Why did the battery go completely bad in 3 days when it made it all winter just fine. I have only owned the Victory since August of last year, so the battery shouldn't be bad. Although it was sitting on the showroom floor for quite a while (it is an 08, bought at the end of 09).
I should add that I did recently add the Lloyds cams and fuel controller. Could that be sucking the battery down? It sat for a couple of days after the install and had no issues.
Help!!!! Thanks. |

| Check the light in the trunk. Mine stayed on once so I now keep the switch in the off position. |

is kill switch on
Kill switch is in the correct position. I flipped it a couple of times, just in case. |

+1 happened to me once too. You'll remember after that. The woman unit actually forgot to close the trunk all the way. Easy to do. |

Posts: 495 Carrollton, TX | In regards to the trunk light I put a round cork piece with double back tape under the switch so it would shut the light off even if the lid is not all the way closed and it works great. I think your problem could be the ground or hot wire connector is not tight enough at the battery. I have had my ground cable work just loose enough a few times that nothing worked. I used a 10mm wrench and tighten it down good and everything worked great. |

Posts: 177 Fredonia, WI United States | Charged it overnight. Installed the battery just now and seems good. I put the trunk switch in the middle (not labeled which position is which). She started up just fine and everything came on.
My only concern is that when I touched the ground wire to the battery to hook it up, there were small sparks, which usually means that there is some sort of current draw. Hope there isnt a short somewhere. |

I have the same issue and wrote it off as the digital gauges - certainly the clock has to have a power source to keep time. |

Posts: 562 SC, Bluffton | Trunk light got me as well in the beginning. I had a sleeping Vision that wouldn't wake up.
I didn't even know there was switch options until this fine board pointed it out. Thank you!
I now have it in the off position, and only turn it on manually.

Posts: 11 Port Hardy BC | Thanks everyone. I just went to start the bike after the same situation as Geekvisonrider. My bad. it rained on us so i propped the truck lid to dry the contents in storage. Did not realize the light was on. I also now have it in the middle position. I hope that is off. Also concerned about the sparking when I put in my spare battery butt he digital thing sounds right thanks Tarpits99! |
