i got the 55 watt replacment bulbs. iturned the lights on before starting they worked replaced the bulbs they did not work.. hid still comes on.. so i put the old ones back in.. don't work i cked. the fuse its good.hid still comes on .... any ideas..... dave

Well, if it were me and I were in your shoes, after swearing a bit I would break out the voltage tester, pull the console, the fuse panel, half the faring and access panels so I could check everything I could think of ............. then when all avenues were exhausted and my dogs were hiding under the bed from the outbursts emanating from the garage.........I would remember that the PIAAs only come on on low beam and I would check the handle bar switch; only to discover that I had flipped it accidentally to high beam.

Then I would have to go apologize to my neighbors and my wife for scaring the crap out of them while I ranted like a lunatic at 108 decibels; before beginning the 7 hour reassembly project.

But thats just be the way things work for me.

gee i love this site for help!!!! thanks tarpit99 i ck. the high beam switch it was on high, so i put it on low turned on the lights no go...then thought may be the main light should be on so i touched the starter till the main came on hit the switch BINGO... now have very bright lights..... sometimes i'm such a dumbass! instead of my usual smart ass......lol dave

Glad it was as simple as that; its also nice to know I'm not the only one on this site who occasionally needs a "spotter" when dealing with electrical.
