Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | I was wondering when you purchase a stage1 level1 or a stage1 level2 Fuel map, does victory have to taget a certain Air/Fuel range? Has anyone ever dyno'd a Victory level1 or level2 fuel map and seen the print out of the Air/fuel ratio? i am curious where they try and set it at? I understand that the maps have to meet E.P.A. regs? |

Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | Look at some of the Dyno charts posted on the Stage 2 Cams. Some show a stock run. You will find that they run right on the EPA line.....too lean.

thanks for the reply RadioTeacher, i wasnt able to find the dyno you are talking about.. i didnt see any that showed the A/F ratio of the dyno run.. Ill look again |

Posts: 1340 Gainesville Fl Home of the Gators | Here is a S1L1, but looking at wide open throttle is not going to tell you what you want. At cruise I havce seen these things settle in at 15.0:1 and higher.

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | thank you so much kevin... in your opinion, if you already have the S1L1 map, and you have the s1l1 setup with the lloyd intake. would there be a need or would there be an improvement by purchasing a fuel controller? |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | i just noticed after looking at the photo closely. it seems as if most of the riding "cruising" Rpm range is in the leanest area of the A/F ratio? i think 3 rpm is cruising in 6th gear? If im reading it right, the A/F ratio doesnt really get "normal" until almost 3500 rpms? SO If i understand this correctly its the leanest before 4000 Rpms? now i wonder can a fuel controller like the VFCIII be added to the Vision where it already had a s1l1 map. I know i could go back to the stock map, but i think they charge for that....? So whats a person to do if they want to Enrichen the mixture |

Posts: 1484 LaPorte,Tx. | You can add the VFCIII to the Vision with Stage 1 Level 1 exhaust, air filter and mapping. If you add the intake plate you will have exactly what I had. This combo was tuned on the Lloydz dyno at the AVR last year, it put out 92 hp and 106 lbs/ft torque. Depending on riding conditions, it would produce 38 to 42 mpg. Without the intake plate, the HP would be less probably by 4-5 hp. I had no issues with this set up. I suggest you give Lloyd a call and just ask him all the questions about the air/fuel ratio, he will most definately explain it to you in great detail. Take care. |

As I said in the beginning you can NOT go by a performance run on a dyno to determine cruise mixtures. At wide open the ECM is dumping WAY more fuel in then at cruise. A VFC3 is a great companion to the intake plate. It will not make a great amount of difference in the performance numbers, but drivability is greatly improved with that combo |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | thank you again Kevin.. yeah thats what im looking for Drivability.... For sure! i feel, (maybe its mental) that my power feels weakish,sluggish? Not that there is anything wrong with the bike but it reminds me of a bike with a lean conidition. and the it pops between gears (sometimes) i know people said to tighten and or replace gaskets. im toying with the idea of doing something with that "is it called" IAS? at this point what im most concerned with is getting a VFCIII and then finding out because of my s1l1 maps im now too Rich even at teh VFCIII's lowest settings.. i guess one thing that might help me is? MAYBE... while i am using the s1l1 setup. i am ALSO using the lloyds intake. so that maps not designed for that extra air? or im just having wishful thinking? |
