Posts: 294 rhode island | new issue of motorcycle cruiser mag. no contest with the harley.the gw put up more of a fight. cruiser mag. is one of the least bias mags youll read. their impression:the vision was the most comfortable ride this tester was ever on 35 years riding experience.vision roll on power in fifth gear was equal to the gw. they thought air management was equal as well.as for styling, nothing compares to the wind tunnel design. he did say no other bike he ever road drew crowds the way the vision does. he said the stereo on the wing was louder, and the vision needed a bigger amp.he said he could not hear the music clear enough. i think some of the radios must be defective because ive heard this on other threads.my radio and ipod at three quarters volume is crazy loud and very clear. his finale take: the wife loves her perch on the back, and that was all he needed to decide. another big win for victory |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | I agree about the radios not being consistent. I wear a full face helmet with earplugs and the XM is perfectly clear with the volume set at 10 (70-75 mph). Body thumping loud at 12. Piss the neighbors off at 15. (Max is 30) I crank it down to 4 coming through the guard gate at work just to say "Hi." Motorcycle Consumer News is a subscription-only magazine that has no advertising in it's pages. 100% reviews, editorials and articles. They will review the Vision Tour in the next edition. They don't always say what you want to hear about your bike but they call it like they see it. I look forward to what they have to say. Popular Mechanics had a short article about two couples on a Gold Wing and a Vision Tour chasing down BBQ joints and trading bikes along the way. Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway riding. Not really a full blown head-to head comparo but a nice read. Makes me want to go to North Carolina/East Tennessee right now!

Posts: 256 Florida | Speaking of the audio system, does anyone have any input on using the three Automatic Volume Control (AVC). I'm still experimenting and so far setting 2 is where I've settled. |

Posts: 256 Florida | I have much respect for MCN. I was a journalist for many years and dealt with its Publisher, Fred Rau. It's been years since I've been in contact with him, but can attest from past experiences with him, that he's not for sale. His reviews are tough, but fair. I'm looking forward to reading what MCN has to say about the ViVi. |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | AVC #2 setting works best for me. #1 is too soft. Dont see a need to try #3. I have no complaints with the radio after adding XM. I set the treble down, the bass up and left the midrange in the middle. Sounds great to me, but my old ears are shot anyway. |
