I just bought a new 08 Vision Street Premium, and had a trunk added. I love the ride! I do have a question about the fit or alignment of the side bag doors. The left door does not appear to close completely. It is sealed ok, but there is a quarter inch gap between the door edge and the bag itself, compared to the right door. The dealer has a Ness (2010?) vision in the showroom that appears normal. The dealer tells me that "all the 08's have this problem, and the factory says there is no adjustment that will fix it". Am I being fed a line, or have other 08 owners noticed this problem too? If you had this problem, did your dealer get it fixed? Other than that, the bike is perfect! Can't wait for it to warm up some so's I can RIDE, RIDE, and RIDE some more! I also look forward to becoming a regular on the forum. I got a lot to learn, and I hope to be able to contribute here as I "become one" with the VV!

Your stealer apparently doesn't care or doesn't know. Saddle bag alignment has been an issue ever since these bikes came out. I have had 5 visions and only 2 were satisfactory in that department. It is a very easy fix. Go to the tech section and type in saddle bag alignment and take your choice of fixes.

Here is my favorite fix for the left saddle bag door.

Ride Safe

Miles and Jeff,

The Video embed feature is great! I would edit your embed instructions for Youtube.com videos.

The first URL I tried was "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFs0AL3z2vs" and it failed.

So I went back to your guide and read it more carefully since "1+1 did not equal 2" I figured I needed to take a closer looks at the "1's" I am using.

Then I noticed that I needed to edit the URL after the "www.youtube.com/" from "watch?v=rFs0AL3z2vs" to "v/rFs0AL3z2vs"

After that it worked and 1+1 equaled 2 again.

Thanks again!

Wow! This You tube video is a tremendous teaching tool Radioteacher! Many thanks and well done! - now if I would have had a few videos like this for my trailer hitch and the wiring of the Bushtec trailer harness, there would have been way fewer wobblepops consumed amid the blue verbal haze!

Well, I also have an issue with the bag doors. My RIGHT door makes a "snapping" sound as it is opened. I believe it is when it is about half-way open. It doesn't seem to catch on anything, just the noise. Very Strange... Anyone else experience anything like this with either bag?

Thanks,

Terry

The snapping noise you hear are the clip nuts they use to secure the hyd.arms to the bike. The nust work over time and become loose.Open and close the door real slow and watch the nut flex in the plastic.Thats what I found.

As for me, my main problem is that my doors will plop open as I ride down the road. I have made sure they are secure, even locking them and then some kindly cager rides up and tells me that one of my bags are open. Then he complements me on the bike.
I also have a little problem with alignment but I'm taking my bike to the dealer for its initial oil change and check. I'll pass this page along to them and see what they do to fix my problem. Nothing major when it happens but a true annoyance.
Thanks RadioTeacher for his presentation.

LarryinMD,

My doors came open while riding too. They were also very hard to open when I wanted them to come open. Here's what I found:
The latch on both the bike side and door side would flex slightly and not allow the latch to completely snap shut. This in combination with loose hinges made operation of the door very rough and unpredictable. Those crappy clip nuts were the culprit. Here's my fix.

http://www.Vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=4222&pos...

Everything stays tight now. The doors stay shut and operate very smoothly. I used to have to pry the door open with my fingers while pushing the button. Now they pop right open by only using one finger on the button. This modification really helped.

VictoryVisionTour,

Thanks for the info. I will try this. What is really frustrating is that it doesn't do it all the time. Went to dealer today for 500 mile initial check and they worked great - No problems at all. But I'm going to check on this fix for the future.
Thanks again,
Larry
