| I just replaced my radio that had finally died on my 2009 Tour Premium and turned on the ignition and everything looked normal and was working. I turned on the radio and it worked fine. I was waiting for the XM to download and turned around to do something on another bike and when I went back to look at it it had quit working. along with the radio not working I had no horn,w/s not working,no instruments working,no brake lites,no turn signals,no cruise lite comes on. The bike starts and runs fine and I have headlites and running lites. I don't find any fuses blown. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | VM - don't know if you have a solution, but if it was me I'd reboot. That is, disconnect the battery for a few 30 minutes and then reconnect and see what that does. Of course, be ready to reset your clock. If that dunt work, double check all your connections, if you do all the of install. If the dealer did, take it back to them. If you did do the install, I'd double check the connections first before disconnecting the battery again. That's all this anybody can think of at the moment. |

| There weren't really any connections made except to the radio. I did disconnect the battery and even disconnected the computer, no luck. I have checked everything I can think of. Before computers I could fix almost anything in my shop. Not so any more. It is too bad you can't reset the computer off your laptop. Any more ideas as to what is going on? |

If the swap puts you back to the beginning I would suspect the "new" component is not so good. Otherwise you have a whole new problem. But first, as I said, verify the new component. |

| It just so happens that I have another radio and I plugged it in and it made no difference. It did not come on either and nothing else started working. |

Posts: 741 Central New York | Dumb question, but did you physically check the 25 amp radio fuse for continuity? The ignition feed is only the primary power, the radio needs the 25 amp secondary power. The fuse may look OK and still be DOA. |

Posts: 741 Central New York | One other thought. There is a 5 amp "instrumentation" fuse which powers the side of the ign switch, which in-turn enables cruise, horn, signals, etc. This may be a better candidate than the radio fuse. On the left fuse panel it may be called the "gauges" fuse. |

I'm thinking if your fuses all check good for another time. Maybe the horn relay went bad or stuck. Again just another idea.
You can pull it and switch it out with the either the headlight power relay or the fog light relay which are also 303 series relays.

| BINGO!!!! It was the 5 amp guages fuse. It is hard to believe that little dude affects so many functions! There will definetly be some spares in my saddlebags. Thanks for all the suggestions. |
