Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | After my morning prayer breakfast I thought I'd go to the dealer to get an air cleaner and plugs. The Vision seems to have a problem with gas mileage and it is due these things now anyway so I'm hoping that will fix the mpg. But wouldn't you know it, on the way to the dealer I got lost, about 30 miles lost, I mean, it is only about 8 miles from where I'm at to there and I find myself off the interstate on some back country road. Anyway, I'm not sure how I finally got there but I made it to the dealer. As I'm coming down the drive I see something that makes me want to just dump my bike and take off running toward it, you know like we used to do when we rode our bicycles. There looking right at me is a Vision 8-Ball. I park up near it, can barely get my helmet off and I'm looking this thing over. I thought the Vision in and of itself was a work of art, but the VV8B tops even that, that bike is beautiful and it just says business, get 'er done.
I go inside and without even saying hi, I ask them for the keys to the bike and ask them what time they close? Of course they don't want me to take it that long because someone else is coming to look a Vision and that is the only Vision demo they have. I sit in the saddle and find that it is even more comfortable to me then my tour premium, this bike is more than sweet. I fire it up and the rumble is at perfection there as well and just begging to be throttled. I hit the road and find myself getting lost the same way that I did coming over to the dealer and find myself topping out the twisties more than I dare on my own bike (don't no one say anything to them). This ride is addictive and hope I can go back and bogart a few more times. There was nothing I didn't like about the bike and found it to be more craddling and comforting in the saddle making this truly a riding bike.
When I got home I went to the wife and told her about me getting lost going to the dealer, which she was not amused. I also told her about the "great bike" and again, she was neither amused or impressed. I couldn't get the words out of my mouth to ask about getting it and she was already sayin "NO!", sorta like my mother reading my mind when wanting to go to a friends house or something.
I've got the feeling I'll be over at the dealer a little more, and I know where they keep the key.
Oh, yeah, on the way back I was in the middle lane on 295 and a sportster comes shooting up on the inside lane and holds with me about 3 miles or so. It just so happen to be the same time the left saddle bag fell open. I just reached back and slammed it shut. He stayed beside me to the exit.
But I've just confirmed that the VV8B rides even better than a standard Vision, which I didn't think it could be possible.
If I was riding anything else but a Vision, it would have been a very hard ride home.

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | That would be a strictly me bike, which wouldn't fly with the wife unit at the moment since she likes to fair weather ride with me and I like that. | |
