Posts: 411 Dallas, Texas | Kevin....should I decide to make a 1000mi trip from DFW..and point myself towards FL, summertime time for sure.. how far in advance would you need notice, and such, for cams? Not saying it would happen for sure, but I am curious. |

| iluvink, I have been meaning to get with you for a while anyway my friend (to do some riding). I had my cams + done by kevinx this past fall at a local DFW Cam Party. Problem was that I ended up having to work the whole time so I had to arrange to have my bike dropped of there and missed the party part of the whole deal. Anyway, I also have an '08 SSG Vision with the kevinxinated cam upgrade. I can attest to the performance of the new cams and to the fact that Kevin is a great guy. Let's get together on my bike real soon and I'll let you taker her for a spin if you want. Also might want to make the trip with you to FL (since I missed the whole party deal last time) and be the official photographer. Let me know!!

Kevin: Do your cam swaps void the extended warranty?
Only if you say that it was done. Really no other cues other then the fuel controller. |

But some things may affect a warranty. Meaning installing cams may possibly affect some portions of the warranty that covers the engine. But if there is an engine problem that may have possibly been caused by the cams then its up to the warranty provider to prove that the cams caused the problem. They can not outright deny any portion of any warranty without proving this. All of this information is found in the Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which can be found all over the net.
One way to look at Lloydz cams is that many hundreds of these cams have been installed in many hundreds of Victory motors and many many tens of thousands of miles have been logged on these cams under all types of riding conditions and styles and such. And I don't think there has been a single person with a single problem with a single warranty issue, perhaps either Kevin or Lloyd will correct me on this if I'm mistaken.

Magnuson Moss only applies to FACTORY warranty. It has no bearing what so ever on an extended policy. Extended coverage can be terminated at the will of the covering agency; for ANY modification. Including changing a wheel, or tire size from factory specs |

Extended coverage can be terminated at the will of the covering agency; for ANY modification. Including changing a wheel, or tire size from factory specs .....getting into a slightly different area when talking about extended warranties. While it is true that an extended warranty can be terminated at will of the covering agency. It can not be terminated due to a claim on the warranty. Well it can not be terminated "during" the process of a claim, it can be terminated before or after a claim, but never during. Actually there is a section in the act that covers this area, it is defined in section 301(8) , it provides for a cause of action for a "breach" of the "service contract" and an "extended warranty" is a service contract. Don't really want to turn this into a debate about the finite details of the Magnuson Act, been there a few times. I will say that there are some areas of the Act that could be debated for hours and still there would be no winners/losers...there are some small "gray areas" in the act, however not many. I've spent many countless hours researching the details of this Act. And based on this research I can say I have ZERO problems with installing cams or NOS or any other modification to my bike. Or any of my past "toys"
But...how about the other point I mentioned? About hundreds of cams without any issues???? I think this alone outwieghs any worries about any warranty issues.

Posts: 1340 Gainesville Fl Home of the Gators | I agree with you 100% on the how it should work. I also have seen these people shut down coverage, and refund a percentage of monies paid when they see a 21x3.5 wheel on a KP. The repair needed was a fuel pump. Sure you could fight it, and maybe you could win, but it's gonna cost you.
More importantly I would just as soon not have someone turn on me over saying that there is nothing the warrenty company can do.
All that said...You are SO right. All of these bikes that have been done, and that I know of not a single issue reported with 10's of thousands of miles under their tires. Not a lot to worry about considering they would most likely not know it if they had the cams in their hands |

And I'm not positive but I think there is another 1.5-2.0 hours of labor to install the carriers.

I wish I could find enough people in the Shreveport, LA. area to have it here, but I think there is only me and one other Vision rider here. |

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | All good to know, thanks for info. I just bought a "new" ( 10 miles ) 08 Vision today, won't pick it up until after Daytona, so the RoadGlide is gonna make one more trip, I'm heading to Orlando first to see the AHDRA Top Fuelers sat and sun, then over to Daytona. Where might any Victory specific vendors be? I know there will be a thousand HD based vendors at Rosmeyers............ |
