i am considering sending my stock pipes to bob in michigan and getting them worked over. was wondering if any one else had done this and if they had to get the new air filter and the remap. also how was the sound and the performance of your bike afterwards.

kevinx recommends a S1 L1 download. I would run the K&N hi-po filter also; just clean and re-oil, never a need to replace, and it flows more air.

My Atom Bombs should be back this week, but with the snow/salt it will be awhile before I get a chance to ride with them. I have heard them before and like the sound.

yea i know they recomend the air filter and the remap download but ive read a lot on here and a lot of people r having trouble with popping on decel . figured that if it was running too lean then just the remap without the airfiter might b the way to go

I'm running the bombs with stock filter and map and have no issues. I actually have a bit less pop than I did previous to install. I have about 10,000 miles on the bombs. The sound does change over the miles, gets deeper after they are "broke-in" a bit. There is a slight performance gain but I have no idea how much though, no dyno sheet. Installing a different filter will add horsepower, however not sure if it will affect any popping issues one way or another though.
