Posts: 741 Central New York | Never got up close and personal with a Vision that had the passenger floorboard risers installed. What's the low down ( or raise up )? Are they worth a c note? What is the actual rise? How tall or short of a passenger notices a benefit? Do they interfere with anything or anybody else?
Curious minds watching the snow. |

| For sure worth the money. I have seen quite a few bikes with the paint rubbed of from the bags do to the passengers legs always touching.
My wife has short legs and would not be able to take the constant pressure on the backs of her calfs.
They put them up about 1 3/4" and out just a bit.
Some folks say they have problems with the c clips coming undone and the floorboards falling off.
I put over 18,000 miles on my bike this year and no problems.
When you open the bags, the risers need to be down or they hit the sides of the bags. |

Posts: 763 Anderson, IN (48mi NE of downtown Indianapolis) | My girlfriend's legs were going numb. I read a post about shorter passengers needing floorboard risers. I had the girlfriend sit on the Vision in her "Normal" riding position. Her feet did not touch the floorboards. She is 5'2". I called the dealer and asked about raising the floorboards. They had 1.5" risers from Victory. Not near enough. I asked the girlfriend to put her foot at a height she would like best then measured to the floorboard. She needed 3" risers. I found 3" risers at the Arlen Ness dealer in Vegas. They arrived at my door in 2 days. The risers are exactly what she needed. She says she is much more comfortable. Before, she was stuck in one position and her legs dangled. Now she can easily move around using her legs because she can press against the floorboards. They are well worth the money to me because she can now ride comfortably for a longer period of time.
The raised floor boards do not interfere with anything as long as they are down. The bag doors hit if they are left in the up position. They hit the rubber part of the boards so the paint doesn't scratch. The gf never has a reason to fold them up so it's not a problem anyway.
15k miles with no quality or performance problems with the risers. |

BUT
Best part of the risers is what they do for ME !
I am a short, fat, old, (but handsome) shit. With short skinny weak legs.
Getting on the Vision with a trunk was just plain INELEGANT for me. BUT - with the risers, I place my left foot on the riser and EASILY sling my right foot over the seat to the right floor board. Then ease my fat rump into the seat. VERY ELEGANT - and I have actually had people comment on how smoothly I mount my steed.
Only problem - reversing the bike - I need to flip them up or else they hit my calf(s) and can cause a stumble - not pretty - but you get used to doing the 'flip up' real fast. |

Posts: 271 Belding Michigan | I had the same problem my wife is 5'1" and the Victory risers would not work so my Son-in-law is a machinest and he bought some bar stock and machined a set that look better than anything I have seen and they gained me almost 4". My wife is now happy and when she is happy so am I. Arch |

Posts: 550 Tacoma, WA | I will try and get a pic or two up. Been riding to and from work, and I work nights, so it is kinda hard for me to get out to the bike with just a camera, and not the helmet to take off!-----Metalguy |

Posts: 88 Nova Scotia , Canada | I installed the risers for my Grandson, and they worked great............. But, as mentioned earlier the c-clip retainers SUCK that came with the kit and I lost one of my floorboards. I highly recomend replacing the pins and clips with stainless bolts. Oh well, guess I could go with crome replacement boards! |

Posts: 849 , FL United States | My SO is 5'2" and I had the Victory risers installed when I got my Vis back in '07. She said it was OK but being the nice guy (?) that I am, I ordered a set of 3" risers from Ness in Las Vegas thinking she would be more confortable. WRONG!!!!! We only rode 3 blocks when I hear "my knee is killing me - they're too high - I HATE THEM - get these POS off and put it back like I liked it". OOPS!!!!
So now I have a set of 3" risers for sale. See "Buy&Sell" section, if interested.
