| anyone tried the atom bomb mufflers? any other mufflers out there that will give the vision a deeper sound that anyone would recommend? Is there a need to rejet or tune the bike in any way after putting on mufflers? power loss or increase? |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | im going to tell you i asked the same things last year. if you do a search on this you will find a TON of info on this! i mean alot.. there is also youtube videos you go to and listen to the different pipes. I almost went with the atombombs, the main reason i didnt was. it was riding season and i didnt want to have any Down time from having to turn in my stock pipes and wait for them to return as atombombs... but now being the time of year that it is. it would be a good time to send your stock mufflers in to have them changed into AB's i personally have the stage1 level1 setup that comes with the higher flowing air filter along with the replacement Fuel injection map. I didnt want to spend hundreds to get a fuel controller after i got mufflers. |

Posts: 137 Houston, Texas | A suggestion:
If you are friendly with your dealer and he has a set or two of the OEM mufflers laying around his shop from changing someone out to a S1 L1 ask him if you can borrow a set to send to the guy in Michigan that does the mod.
When you get the mod back and swap them out....give the dealer the OEM's that came off of your Vision.
I asked my dealer if he would have a problem with that and he not only told me no problem but told me to get him the address and he would ship them for me.
So I had no down time waiting on my mufflers to get back...they came in and the swap took about four hours. I had the dealer install the S1 L1 computer flash and they sound great and I gave him the OEM's.
I had this mod done last February and really like the sound and the performance and the price was right BUT I have not promoted the "Atom Bombs" because the guy in Michigan..."BoB"....was hard to deal with.

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | the whole trading my pipes and waiting to get them returned is why i went with the S1L1 setup.. not because i thought they were better than the AB's. its just i cant have downtime. |

Posts: 394 Tucson, AZ | A little advise from one who learned the hard way. I wanted to go to the L2 pipes from Victory. So I go to my local dealer, Arizona Victory, here in Tucson and talk to the owner Mike. He tells me that if I'm going to do the mod I should have the honey comb inserts at the end of the headers cut out. Let's the engine breath better he says. Me not knowing any better has it done when the mod is done. WRONG! I found out later that it's part of the emission system and causes the engine to lose horse power due to lack of back pressure. The bike sounds more like I wanted it to but not nearly as much top end. |

Not funny you say that. I too experienced the same lack of performance going that route. I had my exhaust done at their sister location in Phoenix. Sounds good, but I too feel like something was lost in terms of power. |
