Posts: 741 Central New York | Have an 08 'street w/ std audio pkg.. I'm looking at the Scala Rider Q2 system as it bluetooths with my blackberry phone which is also my Garmin GPS. I want to hook a bluetooth transmitter into the vision audio system. My question is: Can I use the unused rear speaker terminal in the audio connector? Would there be a "line out" signal in the absence of a rear volume control? If so, would that signal be compatible? If not, any other ideas? |

But I suspect it would not be there on the street version since that is part of the communications package when you put the CB in a Tour Bike. I don't even have sound control on the back with the Tour Package. It comes with the Comm Package.
Before you buy the Scala Q2 look at the IMC Camos BTS 300 Stereo Bluetooth Headset. I bought this over the Scala because I wanted A2DP Stereo over Bluetoothnig from my Zumo 660. Scala has someftware upgrades in Q1 of 2010, but they are not there yet. I have heard good reviews on the Q2 but it just was not there technology wise yet. Plus, the IMC Camos has a Long Range Intercom channel so you can link up sets between bikes at long distances.
All that said, I have looked at every possible way to get everything through the Bluetooth (Stereo, CB, GPS, etc...). I finally had to give up (unless I wanted to shell out a huge amount on a complete system from J&M).
So I have resolved myself that for my Half Helmet, I will use the Vision Sound system for IPod Music, GPS Sound Annunciation and CB sound. The cell phone will not be used with the Half Helmet.
For my Full helmet, I will use my Camos Bluetooth for Cell Phone connection (via my Zumo 660) and for GPS Sound Directions. I can also use the Bluetooth to listen to Stereo Sound from my Zumo GPS but will have to rely on the speakers for GPS sound.
Let me know how the Bluetooth Transmitter works. I had considered putting one on my CB to listen to it in a full helmet, but I still won't be able to talk through it.

Posts: 69 Citrus Heights, CA United States | I have the street premium and bought the cable for rear audio (never have used it) . Still confused on your ? The scala Q2 will pair with your phone why would you need a xmitter? I have mine wire so that my garmin gps and phone pair with the Q2 and play my ipod through stock speakers but when i get gps through helmet when on directions they override music then afterwards music returns to set level. If Q2 is not activated then directions from gps do same as described but though the speakers only. Also Q2 will pair with 4 items and bike to bike up to 1000 feet and also intercom between you and passenger |

Fountain Inn, SC United States | Not sure if it makes any diff but as our other site (Victory Riders Network) reports,
Cardo Systems has signed a distribution partnered with Polaris & Victory Motorcycles which will supply Cardo Scala Rider? Q2 Bluetooth headsets to Victory's Pure Polaris Accessory catalog.
I can't imagine they'll be any cheaper wit the Victory logo on them. |
