NOTE: This is for anyone who is not afraid to tweak on things just to see the results.

I have done some initial adjsutments with positve results. (Your results may vary )

Very Sensitive!

I think I have traced an old problem that occurred just after a recall that was done by making a visual on the TPS and then making an adjustment.

I am doing it by seat of pants driveabilty and frequency of lean pop.

KevinX:  If you read this I would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks:  2008 Stage 1 Level 2,  no fuel controller, stock cams 33,000 miles:

I thought the TPS was only adjustable through the Digital wrench program........... Otherwise, I am interested.

Well I would need to say that the Digital Wrench is probably a must have for accurate adjustments to a specific value that has been determined by Victory.
The TPS (Variable Resistor) is a movable object that has a starting set point while the throttle is closed and the bike is at idle. I have had a seat of pants driveability issue that came about and was unable to get it repaired to my satisfaction. I was told in so many words that all systems were within spec. @#$$% Because I ride everyday I have plenty of time to think about what I can do to make my bike run the way I want it to and did when new. Yes I have a California bike and like some of us we can only get 91 octane but that's not the real issue.

I had the S1 L2 exhaust installed thinking the flash that came with it would fix the issues. It did not...

Since I have already addressed the IAC in stock form and in a modified form I have determined the bike does in fact perform better with the IAC in normal operation mode. I have also checked the MAP sensor and determined it too was within spec.

I have redone the head pipe to the cylinder head matting surfaces with new crush washers (trying to eliminate the pop).

All along I have a sensation of a lean condition. and no main jet to change like on a carb. So I had one last possibility for change, the TPS.

Note: Most adjustments and screws that are on the throttle body and related linkages have marker paint on them that was put there from the factory (I would assume) to indicate that they are set.
When I looked at the screw that holds my TPS in place it was apparent it had been moved. So being curious I moved he TPS back to where it was ( lined up the paint mark) and I got a whole different running experience.

On my bike I moved it in a direction that effectively made it a richer mixture. ( Throttle blades at same position but TPS telling PCM it was actually open further.)

I Fixed two issues 1) Now the bike does not lunge on decel @ around 1500 rpm. 2) Popping has subsided (Was real Bad)

Keep in mind issue #1 cam about after a dealer did recall #1 Hmmm!

My concern is that according to what I can gather is I may get some sort of error code casue I may hae something outside of a spec.

There are some other fine adjustments that I was required to do but I have had it like this for a couple of day now and will ride hard this weekend to fully test.

Prior to all this displayed mileage was 45 to 48 but based on how far I traveled and what went into tank I calculated it to around 40 to 41 mpg. That's city highway general law oh biding speeds so to speak.
Now I will see how much it may go down but if its a couple and the bike runs better Oh well!

Newish spark plugs are rich looking around the base ( Same as old plugs in lean condition) but there is more color further up the neg electrode, center is still bright white

I would own the Digital Wrench but its appears that you need to be an authorized dealer to purchase. So when all else fails I do what I can.

I look forward to anyone's commentary who may have ventured down this road.

Interesting........The TPS on the closed loop bikes is NOT adjustable through digi wrench. I had not noticed that they had moved to a slotted design, and need to look into that a little. BTW these things still do not use a very smart ECM, and it is doubtfull that you would see a light come on for the adjustment change

Kevinx,

Does the digital wrench show a specific value or acceptable range for the TPS? I would think it may be a voltage reading from low to high or high to low depending on where the throttle is set at?

My next step is to reference its resitance where I have it set at closed throttle and use it as basline information. Really the slightest movement makes noticable change...

No lights yet good to know the ECM is only so smart.

I haqve to plug in a Vision again, but I think it does not give voltage. It gives % of throttle for the new bikes

100 mile ride around the burnt up hills of LA today and she is running real gooood. Showing 48 mpg and tail pies are darker...3.
Roll on is much better

Tomorrow 200 plus from Desert to the Snow to Sea... Probably a bit more spirited ride..

I am using a resitance value to adjust at closed throttle. Those who have a service manual ( publicly available) the pin outs and range are identified.

I think I may get a new TPS to try later..

Hmmm, perhaps the surging problem I am having is with my TPS. Any experts out there on TPS?

So did any of this work? If we already have the VFCIII would adding more fuel to to idle to the same? Also the IAC would this do the same as well? I have both and am still getting a lot of poping ... I am send this bike to Kevin at the begining of sumer to have seem goodies but on and to get a good tune from it...
